Is this the general consensus?: Women don't really know their hiphop music?

women in general have a horrible ear when it comes to music. As long as it's catchy & they can sang to it, it's all that really matters. They don't care about anything else. I don't even think they have the attention span to follow lyrics & what an artist is actually saying.

to be completely fair tho, before the existence of hiphop that's all that really mattered amongst black music tho. (with the exception of a few cats like Gil Scott Heron, Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix....Smokey Robinson was very prolific also but people cared more about his "melodies" rather than what he was saying tho)

hiphop is the first genre amongst black people where the lyrics are more important than everything else, amongst "real" heads atleast.

I don't even think they have the attention span to follow lyrics & what an artist is actually saying.

This would imply that women are stupid and on the same level as children though, which I don't think is the case.
