I don't think I've seen another team on this board get the benefit of the doubt like this Clippers squad has been getting. It's bewildering.

I can really understand now why peg leg signed with them. There’s no way he wouldn’t get dragged through hot coals if he was on GOAT franchise pullin these stunts.

And have his career being reduced to LeBron's understudy, henchman, and fall guy? His Klaw brand and mystique would've been finished :why:

This is the breaking point season tho. Ain't sh*t gonna be sweet if they flame out early in the postseason and don't get it together

The same team you said this about last season:

If the Warriors have a foot in the grave, it ain't theirs - they're standing in yours.

Why don't you go ahead and tell us how you predicted them to win the title last season whilst in the next breath saying they'd never win a ring again, Mr. Hedger.

Imagine tying yourself to this bum ass Clippers squad who haven't won shyt, all the while doing the most to downplay one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history. You didn't even brush your teeth this morning before hopping onto TheColi, fiending to catch another L. You need to address that dirty ass habit. All these Ls are killing whatever braincells you have left.

That’s also fair, at the time I looked at it like he was the perfect person to push Bron to the side. But yeah, in hindsight I understand. Even then a part of me understood and even slightly respected it fr. It’s still fukk peg leg tho :lolbron:

Warriors have the worst road record in the LEAGUE & dudes focused on the clippers :mjlol:

Ain’t no team playing that trash on the road legit , half way thru the season they’re play in status got smoked at home by a suns team missing 3 starters.

His mystique has already taken a hit though, so given what we know now of the last 4 years, it's hard to imagine he takes a harder hit if we was a Laker. Maybe initially but I doubt over the long term...

Because what it looks like is if a team isn't already set up to compete for a title, he isn't built to carry you there. Those Spurs team had an established core and coach before Kawhi. All he had to do was mature into a centerpiece but the year they won in '14, he wasn't carrying anything. When he evolved into a player that could do the heavy lifting, his body failed him, we can talk about reasons why but a patten was established ('17 and '18)...

When he didn't have to be the main guy they won a title and were still competitive for titles as he was a continually growing player of relevance...

In Toronto that team was on the doorstep of contention, just needed a closer and more creative coach. The roster had continuity and made just yhe right free agent move (Gasol), bit this was already a team that knew how to play at a high level, they were used to winning 50-55 games. This wasn't a team where guys were thrown together to try to make shyt fit. They was already camaraderie...

He goes to LA and chokes the first year, which, let's not underplay this, it was his first year having the weight of expectation of being The Guy, possibly the best player in basketball, team favored by most experts to win the title. It's not that he lost, favorites lose all the time. He completely collapsed and choked the first time that expectation was asked of him.

Next year, continued the pattern of his body going out on him. The next year, sits the entire year out. This year, he's ramping up and looking good, but forgive me if I've seen The Kawhi Leonard story before. How does it end?

He's got a unique career, a Top 40-ish GOAT with a super high peak who really couldn't last that long as an elite player, a guy who could be the icing on the cake bit if you asked him to carry more responsibility than just the icing hasn't shown he is that...

In an alternate world, he goes to the Lakers, the injuries are going to come to him regardless. They always do, they always were. But he would have a minimum of one championship, maybe another, and he's saved from the embarrassment of having that choke. Playing in Bron's shadow would forever shield him of ridicule, he wouldn't be the guy getting the blame when shyt went bad. He gets to forever be "Fun Guy", forever live off the luster of Toronto, they win one or two rings he gets credit as it had been a few years since Bron won one, Kawhi just won one, Bron is old, he gets savior treatment...

He's lost more in terms of image and brand by this Clippers mishap than if he were a Laker, but honestly, I'd argue this has just shown us who Kawhi has always been. A great, great player, who isn't really conditioned physically for year in, year out long seasons, and who quote possibly, isn't mentally conditioned for the pressure of winning championships when everyone EXPECTS you to be the guy who carries teams to championships...
