Is this the best build up of tension in one scene ever?

In "The Hand" That Rocks The Cradle", the babysitter empties the all of the mother's asthma inhalers out before she gets home and leaves a dead body in the green house. Mother gets home, sees the body, has an asthma attack and the whole scene is her scrambling around for an inhaler. shyt's so :demonic:

Yeah that Mulholland Drive scene is one of my favorites.

The scene with the Cowboy is pretty tense too.

I love the drug deal scene in Boogie Nights

Scene is a mix of :gladbron::merchant::what::shaq::russ::blessed:

That kid with the firecrackers :deadmanny:

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v5KRcvFvhc[/ame] i remember wen i 1st saw this scene as a 11-12 year old how intense it was to me. i was too young to realize it was based on a true story and that Malcolm was NOT gonna blow his head off lol

I was gonna say the opening of Scream, but I really feel like it borrowed a lot of influence from this classic horror scene...which I bet a lot more of y'all won't be as familiar with. 15 minutes of slow build

Over There...
Mulholland Drive Diner Scene on Vimeo

Brilliant directing

-the sound design and camera work (like the guy in the comments said)
-Dan's acting
-the fact that it's scary in broad daylight

Lynch

Btw, Entrance = en trance = in a trance :wow:

Love Lynch films, but there is something seriously wrong with dude... The shyt his brain comes up with is just :merchant:

The funny thing is he comes across as a really friendly, nice guy, albeit a little eccentric.

Mel Brooks summed it up perfectly when he said he's like "Jimmy Stewart from Mars".

Great, great film

Still to this day - its the only movie I instantly rewatched after my first view.

To any Lynch newbies - Blue Velvet is an absolute classic as well.
