Brian Danielson is the Canibus of wrestling. All those bars but he never sold a dime. 2001-2009 Daniel Bryan is irrelevant to most fans eyes, that was all in the minor leagues. Look at the topic title, its the YES era, not the caped vanilla midget submission specialist who sold out high school gyms. 15 years later and I can easily say people are more likely to watch stuff like Rock vs Hogan, Shawn vs Taker than Danielson vs Nigel Mcguiness in a bingo hall. If you are talking about quality wrestling where are any good promos? Or is pro wrestling only about in ring ability?
I dont buy this in ring ability shyt when wrestling lost all its intrigue and spark when fans started to think they could judge wrestling based on match quality. When wrestling was at its best the fans werent judging matches on a star system. They were also discussing the angles and who said what, what crazy shyt went on backstage or on location, etc. Now the fans all think they are dave meltzers and nothing matters besides a 5 star classic. The only thing that coincides with this new age hardcore fan and the new age wrestling business is that every one else who enjoyed watching wrestling for entertainment stopped because they got abandoned.
In fact, D Bry in the 'E got over only because of his charisma. I'd rather do the Yes and make millions than wrestle Lo Ki in a high school gym and get a staph infection from the dirty indie ring.
