RAP music has always been the way it is now. listen to the marley marl combat jack ep where marley is calling somebody a "disco rapper" from back in the day. theres always been a separation between b-boy shyt and club shyt. do the knowledge.

its all called rap music btw. ive heard a lot of artists labeled "hip-hop" that can never be called rap. look at the "hip hop" charts and tell me why youre holding on to that pretentious marketing buzz word...

thats a raw record, it became a club record much like any song can "become" a pop song...because of the way it ends up being treated

theres big difference between that and a joint like missy's "work it"

I posted that song just for that reason. Im not trying to knock anything but its hard to tell the difference between R&B and hip hop sometimes these days

Why do producers take the blame for how strict sample laws are nowadays?

2 things.
1. A lot of these "trap" producers love to sample, and make different types of shyt. Producers period like to experiment with different shyt.
2. The rappers they show the beats too choose the generic trap beat.

Your right to an extent. Your average teenager making beats on his bedroom doesn't know shyt about sampling unless he's studied the culture

Depends on what wave you're on. Damn near all of those RVIDXR KLVN nikkas sample because they come from the early 90s hypnotize minds school of production. Lex Luger was actually a backpack/sample type guy. Ty $ was the one who produced "toot it and boot it" for YG...and he taught mustard.
