if she is not his best friend, she is certainly his close friend, certainly too close for critical independence. and please, they been friends way before 2001. she said they became friends after she reviewed RD in the Village Voice.

i could really give a fukk less.. fact of the matter is, none of this ever "bothered" any of you.. and, like Danj said- majority of you had no idea who she was before last month..

who fukkin cares.. theres tons of media folks, who play favorites and do little snide sh!t like this on the regular.. yall ever get tired of getting online daily and whining about the most mundane shyt..? :wow:

Another poster who literally has no point but is always typing aggressively.

People have been talking about biased an incompetent hip hop journalism for years. And most heads have known who Dream Hampton was and even the late folks heard her name when Jiggas book of rap lyrics came out.

Whining >>> Whining about whining

Now get lost...

:snoop: Vibe was absolutely disgusting back then...I'm not even gonna bother reading the article, that excerpt alone is pathetic enough...cognitive dissonance in it's purest form...what's a hardcore feminist to do when the rapper she has an weird creepy unwavering love for is one of the most unrepentant misogynists in rap? Come up with hilarious bullshyt like that....somebody find their review of Stillmatic, they gave it like 2/5 or something...paragraphs full of nothing but thinly veiled camel lust fueled disdain...I wouldn't doubt at all if it was Dream that wrote that one too

Actually that review was written by Elizabeth Mendez who is another behind the scenes Jay-Z friend/public sparring partner...One of her essays is also credited in that Dream Hampton authored book about him...

Like Dream she is also a feminist

The Feministing Five: Elizabeth Mendez Berry

And her political activism organization is called 99problems.org

You can't make this stuff up...lol

About this...

People that follow hip hop journalism will tell you that Dream Hampton is WELL KNOWN and has been for years...Infact she is one of only a handfull of hip hop journalists that I have known by name since middle school..

She's a shady character with an agenda..She waited until Biggie was dead and gone a few years ago to slander his memory with claims that he was best friends with a homosexual named Manny..She never wrote a word about their relationship while he was living though..

Hip hop fans not knowing who Dream Hampton is like a Rock fan not knowing about Lester Bangs..

The Urban Daily said:
Most hip hop fans are familiar with the name Dream Hampton, a writer who is close friends with some of the greats in hip hop like The late Christopher “Notorious BIG” Wallace and Jay-Z. She recently helped pen Jay’s Decoded book. Since the DJ Mister Cee sex scandal has hit the net, the topic of hip hop being homophobic has been the talk of the town. [From Hellobeautiful: Is Hip-Hop Homophobic?]
Yesterday Dream Hampton shed some light on this issue when she took to her twitter page to speak on Biggie’s best friend Mann being openly gay. According to Dream Hampton’s tweets, Biggie was aware of Mann’s sexuality and didn’t seem to mind. The photo to the right are of BIG and Mann at a dice game in Brooklyn back in the day.
“I remember when we were in L.A a couple weeks before he died and Big told me ‘Yo the n*gga Mann brought his boyfriend on the Ave.!, ” Hampton wrote. She asked him how’d he take that and according to her he replied, “That’s my n*gga. Whatever.”

Biggie’s Best Friend Was Gay | The Urban Daily

She seems to get in these arguments on twitter, starts taking L's so she panics and starts trying to throw n!ggas under the bus to save face or score points.. It's a pattern with her..

Journalistic malpractice?:aicmon: The smart dumb nikka population is climbing at alarming rates. And nikkas read Vibe? :upsetfavre:

And I don't know how anyone can really disagree with DANJ!, whether y'all knew about her last month or the last decade. Thread starter waited until after she went at Nas to drop this breaking news about her Blueprint review.

She wrote about that in relation to the Mister Cee shyt that happened, and brought it up in that context. Why would she just casually mention while Biggie was alive, or even out of nowhere prior to the Mister Cee situation, "oh yeah, Biggie was cool with a nikka who turned out to be a homo". How would that have even fit into the context of an article on Big or an album review? You act like she just popped outta nowhere with it on some smear campaign shyt.

And yeah, people that follow hip-hop journalism know who Dream Hampton is... but the ratio of them to people who busted outta the woodwork sayin' "who the fukk is this bytch, she don't know nothin' about hip-hop, she ain't got no right to discredit the god NaS!!!" is pretty small. Of course, journalists have their favorite artists- anyone who cares enough to write about this shyt obviously was a fan first. But it's just funny that NOW, her opinions hold no merit to people who had no idea she's been around for 20 years, because of some tweets about a Nas album.
