I remember this incident like it was yesterday and CACs on NikeTalk trying to tell me I was reaching by comparing these 2 photos and then the image went viral and all of a sudden “people were being sensitive”. Right… either that or I was correct and the image is clearly a modern take on an old stereotype.
I currently paint and used to be a graphic designer. I understand visual language and iconography, yet people will argue for days to try to get themselves to believe they aren’t seeing what they’re seeing.

Regardless, every time a Black person does something questionable and seemingly out of place it is NOT because of some omnipotent white man the "they" in these stories or some larger conspiracy. Believe that a lot of those Black men made their own choices like Thugga and Kudi... there's a lot of images conflated here to tell one convoluted narrative. that narrative is making desperate reaches and grasps to attempt to validate itself.
