Giving the current climate and how miniscule innovation has been. What would be a reason for anyone to upgrade if they just got a brand new phone recently? Maybe outside of Internal storage, being lost/stolen or damaged. Do you think phones today are capable of meeting most expectations up to 5 years? Is it even worth getting the top end models?

Im waiting on some holograph capabilities.

Yes.

I had a Palm Pre lasted 7 years, LG G4 lasted 4 years (bootloop issues), LG V30+ 5 years (T-Mobile forcing me to switch to new phone for 5g service)

Imo no if your phone is still running fast.

I've had my s21 ultra since release and got my battery changed last year, still runs perfect and I don't see anything that I really miss in the s24 ultra

Definitely not like it was from like the 4 to the 10 for me. I would be looking to switch every year or every other year. Maybe because I was young :manny:

I’ve got the 14 pro max and haven’t really been sold with the last two years. I will most likely switch next year mainly because of usb c.

Not really, the only thing I will say is how poor the performance becomes after 3 years on these modern phones. I still only upgrade if I have a great deal and can afford to at the time.

I have the newest phone in our house, it's the only one with an esim. It is also wifi hotspot capable (not just regular hotspot). Other than that they are all the same.
There's also the newest versions of Bluetooth.
