I don't think anybody would necessarily hide history if there were. I mean Genghis Khan has all the reason to be hidden when talking history, but they don't because they can't, because too many people know about it due to the impact on the world.

But that's fine because as mentioned those conquerors pretty much were psychopaths. Some of the stories in this thread were sickening.

The ancient world was a brutal place by all accounts. And it’s really no different today. What do you think all the military spending is for but conquering to maintain a certain standard of living.

The methods of warfare were just different back then. But the reasons for going to war and the goals were the same. Control of resources and markets. Expansion to feed growing populations. Border security, etc.

Correct, but not going to group everybody in one category. There are people in that line of work who do really question authority, will stand tall for themselves and the people they swore to protect and serve, will think about each situation in it's context, etc.

The dangerous ones and the ones who I'm referring to are the ones who execute somebody's vile plans only because it was orders, partakes in violent action even though they may know it's wrong, succumb to peer pressure, etc.

Edit: Damn, just late. I didn’t know she went at Alexander as well. Watching a doc on African civilization and just saw her. To go against Alexander the Great and Augustus, 2 of the strongest and most influential men of the time says a lot about her. We’ve got a lot of amazing figures in Black Hostory, we just need to research them and make them more prevalent among ourselves.
