Wanting power isnt a white thing:dwillhuh:
Power over what exactly? I can understand living in a arid desert and invading your neighbors for their fertile land and all. But what the fvck was Alexander looking for in Afghanistan?:mindblown: The faggit had a few chromosomes missing and had to kill millions of people to feel like a man.
He probably had ADHD or something:yeshrug:

Western public education doesn't teach folks about African history, it's mostly hidden for obvious reasons. I had to self teach myself about African civilizations, rulers, empires from the Coli (shout out to Diasporan Royalty) and such from Youtube.

Some additions:
Nana Yaa Asantewa

Near the end of the 19th century, the British exiled King Prempeh from the hinterlands of the Gold Coast (present day Ghana), in an attempt to take over. By 1900, still not gaining control, the British sent a governor to the city of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti, to demand the Golden Stool, the Ark of the Covenant for the Ashanti people.
The Golden Stool was the supreme symbol of the sovereignty and the independence of the Ashanti, a people who inhabited dense rain forests of what is now the central portion of Ghana. The governor in no way understood the sacred significance of the Golden Stool, which according to tradition, contained the soul of the Ashanti.
Nana Yaa Asantewa was present at the meeting with the governor and chiefs. When the meeting ended, and she was alone with the Ashanti chiefs, she said: “Now I have seen that some of you fear to fight for our king. If it were in the brave days of old, the days of Osei Tutu, Okomfo Anoyke and Opulu Ware, Ashanti chiefs would not sit down to see their king taken away without firing a shot. No white man could have dared speak to Ashanti chiefs in the way the governor spoke to you chiefs this morning.”
Nana Yaa Asantewa’s speech stirred the men. She said, “If you men will not go forward, then we the women will. I will call upon my fellow women. We will fight the white men until the last of us falls in the battlefields.”
The Ashantis, led by Nana Yaa Asantewa, fought very bravely

Taharga
Taharqa is probably one of the most famous rulers of Napatan Kush, reigning from 690 to 664 B.C.. At 16, this great Nubian king led his armies against the invading Assyrians in defense of his ally, Israel. This action earned him a place in the Bible (Isaiah 37:9, 2 Kings 19:9).
During his 25-year rule, Taharqa controlled the largest empire in ancient Africa. His power was equaled only by the Assyrians. These two forces were in constant conflict, but despite continuous warfare, Taharqa was able to initiate a building program throughout his empire, which was overwhelming in scope. The number and majesty of his building projects were legendary, with the greatest being the temple at Gebel Barkal in the Sudan. The temple was carved from rock and decorated with images of Taharqa over 100 feet high.

You mean a psychopath that went around raping and killing people just because they can...

And somehow they become people of worthy of praise and acclaim because us current humans are like thousands of years removed...

So all we talk about is how skilled and adept they were at war and diplomacy and not telling the truth about what they did...

Which is rape and kill a bunch of people because they can...

Yeah I am sure there is some African version of that...every race got some historic honorable psychopath that they like to prop up as some great guy...

this is the part that gets glossed over in the movies....

KING JAJA OF OPOBO

a Ja of Opobo

Birth: c. 1820
Death: 1891
Nationality: Nigerian
Occupation: politician, nationalist, slave

BIOGRAPHICAL ESSAY

JaJa of Opobo (ca. 1820-1891) was a political and military strategist, brought to the Bonny Kingdom as a slave, who was perhaps the most troublesome thorn in the flesh of 19th-century British imperial ambition in southern Nigeria.
The story of Ja Ja recounts a man of servile status hurdling intimidating odds to attain wealth and power, and founding in the latter half of the 19th century the most prosperous city-state in the Delta area of Nigeria. Information regarding his parentage and early childhood, derived from uncertain and speculative oral tradition, is scanty and unsatisfactory. According to informed guesstimates, Ja Ja was born in 1820 or 1821, in the lineage of Umuduruoha of Amaigbo village group in the heartland of Igboland, Southeastern Nigeria. He was sold into slavery in the Niger Delta under circumstances which are far from clear. One version of the oral traditions says that he was sold because, as a baby, he cut the upper teeth first, an abominable phenomenon in traditional Igbo society. Another version claims that he was captured and sold by his father’s enemy. Regardless, he was bought by Chief Iganipughuma Allison of Bonny, by far the most powerful city-state on the Atlantic coast of Southeastern Nigeria before the rise of Opobo.

To follow the Ja Ja story or, indeed, revolution, an explanatory note is necessary. Until the end of the 19th century, the Delta communities played a crucial role in European and American trade with Nigeria. Acting as middlemen, these communities carried into the interior markets the trade goods of European and American supercargoes stationed on the coast and brought back in exchange the export produce of the hinterland, basically palm oil. As the Delta is dominated by saline swamps and crisscrossed by a labyrinth of creeks and rivers, the canoe was indispensable for trade.

The Delta society was organized in Canoe Houses. A Canoe House was the pivot of social organization and also, notes K.O. Dike, “a cooperative trading unit and a local government institution.” It was usually composed of a wealthy merchant (its founder), his family, and numerous slaves owned by him. A prosperous house could comprise several thousand members, both free and bonded, owning hundreds of trade canoes. In this inte

nsely competitive society, leadership by merit–not by birth or ascriptions–was necessary if a house was to make headway in the turbulent, cut-throat competition that existed between houses. Any person with the charisma and proven ability, even if of servile birth, could rise to the leadership of a house, but could never become king. Ja Ja would achieve this, and much more.

Finding young Ja Ja too headstrong for his liking, Chief Allison made a gift of him to his friend, Madu, a chief of the Anna Pepple House, one of the two houses of the royal family (the other being the Manilla Pepple House). Ja Ja was slotted into the lowest rung of the Bonny slave society ladder, that of an imported slave, distinct from that of someone who was of slave parentage but born in the Delta.

As a youth, he worked as a paddler on his owner’s great trade canoes, traveling to and from the inland markets. Quite early, he demonstrated exceptional abilities and business acumen, quickly identified with the Ijo custom of the Delta, and won the hearts of the local people as well as those of the European supercargoes. It was unusual for a slave of his status to make the transition from canoe paddling to trading, but Ja Ja–through his honesty, business sense, and amiability–soon became prosperous.

For a long while, Ja Ja turned his back on Bonny politics, concentrating his immense energies on accumulating wealth through trade, the single most important criterion to power in the Delta. At the time, Bonny politics were volatile as a result of the irreconcilable and acrimonious contest for supremacy between the Manilla Pepple House and the Anna Pepple House to which Ja Ja belonged. Coincidentally, both houses were led by remarkable characters of Igbo slave origins–Oko Jumbo of the Manilla House and Madu (after him Alali his son) of the Anna House.

I tried to add the full atrticle but the word count was too much

Much respect to all who said Hannibal Barca.

I’ve only studied ghengis a little but what the mongols did was impressive. He had excellent generals like tsubodi, who is himself not as well known but is comparable to some of the top military minds in history from what ive read.

I’ve studied Alexander but I won’t get into him too much. He was an excellent general of course.

But neither did what Hannibal did. Both Alexander and ghengis were monarchs with absolute say and control of the resources of the State. They could raise armies and call for reinforcements at will. Hannibal was just a general of Carthage, subject to recall at any time, and his own govt basically betrayed him. And there was a difference in their opponents. After the Persians alexander was attacking people who had no idea why or even who he was. Rome was at its fighting peak when Hannibal invaded Italy and both of em knew exactly what they were doing.

Hannibal left new Carthage with 100,000 men and fought his way thru northern Spain. He was only 31. He had about 50,000 when he reached the foot of the alps and only 26,000 left when he crossed into Italy. He was the first general to cross the Pyrenees and then the first to cross the Alps with an organized army.

Then he gave the romans hell for the next 16 years and never lost a major engagement on Italian soil. He was the first and only commander in history to use his entire army to set an ambush, at lake trasimene. He wiped out his third Roman army, en route to the massacre at cannae where he killed between 50 - 70,000 and lost only about 6,000 himself. They still teach that battle in military academies all over the world today. He actually got most of southern Italy to leave their Roman alliance and side with him. It’s also why they say southern Italians are so much darker than the northerners, because that’s where Hannibal’s army spent most of its time.

I could keep going. I’ve probably read most of the seminal works about him. Out of them all I always recommend ‘Hannibal’ by T.A. Dodge. Most of what you’ll read worth reading I’ve found was taken from dodge but he rarely gets the credit.

His book is the best because dodge actually went to Italy
and walked the ground Hannibal campaigned on. He’s not just getting his info from other books. Dodge was himself also a soldier. An officer in the union army who lost a leg at Chancellorsville in the civil war, so basically what you’re getting is a military history. No opinions and embellishments, just a soldiers view of Hannibal’s campaigns.

If you go into it knowing Hannibal is Black, and he was, you’ll be straight. There’s a coin online of Hannibal with the plats in his hair and an elephant on the other side. That was minted to commemorate his victory at lake trasimene.

No bullshyt his old man hamilcar was a beast too. He’s the one that conquered southern Spain and it was his plan Hannibal carried out.

All Black people should study the Punic Wars. They contain every lesson and answer to our problems. And it was the last time we’d meet white folks in war on close to even terms.

Genghis was indeed a beast, insane and extremly scary, the mongols where on another level utilizing novel mobility tactics on horseback while his soliders shot at enemies with bone arrow's his men where also good at deception by fake retreating and attacking turfs with a shyt ton of unmounted horses for the purpose to trick his enemies that they are outnumbered. The Mongols could have gone further through Hungary but due in fighting shyt went left.

Yea...:francis: Alexander once went through a town and slaughtered everybody within the city’s walls. Men, women and children. Talking like 10,000 people. They raped the women and girls too before killing them :francis: Their crime you ask? Not wanting him to take over their city. They tried to retreat behind their walls/gates, had enough food to last for a few years and hoped he would get tired of not being able to get into the city and leave. When he finally did get in he killed them all for their “disobedience”. He once burned a whole city to the ground and killed everyone AFTER they gave his men much needed food and water due to them were thousands of miles away from home. Their crime? Being the descendants of Greeks and Macedonians who
betrayed his ancestors by siding with the Persians and in result, starting a city in Asia that Alexander later ran into (a blessing for them since he and his men was starving and dying of thirst). Dude was a fukkin psycho. They don’t include that shyt in the movies. You gotta read various books on him to get the real deal. He died of fever, was in pain for days. He deserved it. Probably had classical era AIDS from fukking boys. If there’s an afterlife, he definitely didn’t go to paradise.
