Everyone trying to find whats wrong with the team and coming up with all these theories...

Its simply we have a MID QB... We haven't had that in a while and it's a different ball game when a program is dealing with it..

Good/great colligate QB's gloss over so many negative aspects of a team, The O-line isn't amazing but are gonna look way worse blocking for a QB that doesnt have a rocket arm, accuracy, or MOBILITY.

Running lanes don't open when nobody really believes your QB is a killer like that and will make them pay....

O-line might be below Buckeye standards but I don't think it starts with them...

Run game is clearly the one area we need to improve on the most. Pass offense started slow then dominated. Defense gave up a short field score, otherwise it was 10 points on a good offense. Tulia had by far his worst game in a long time. Held him under 200 yards and 2 picks. Defense really impressed after a slow start. Regarding the run game, we’re not getting stuffed behind the line of scrimmage, it’s just we’re only getting 2-3 yards consistently instead of 5-6 to stay on schedule. That looks more like the OL getting to the second level. Tre masks some of these issues by being able to break a 60 yarder at any point. Glad he will be back next week. He was running around pregame and didn’t look like anything was wrong. He’s clearly the best back because of his HR ability.

The concerning part is that Maryland didn't have some super stout run defense coming into this game. They were middle of the pack and that was with playing anemic teams like Charlotte, Virginia and MI State. And equally concerning, although defense held em in check scoring wise and got turnovers, was how they ran on us and moved our guys around at times. All stuff to get cleaned up in the next couple of weeks.

I think y’all defense is fine, but i feel like lil tua helped y’all more than the defense just dominating

Yeah, they are still miles ahead of last year. Think they still haven't allowed an explosive play all year which is insane being that we were giving em up to everybody the past CPL years, even smaller schools. But Maryland showed that you can do some damage a times. They had that drive after half where they average over 6 yards a run and then after that we clamped down + a mixture of stacking a lead to make them have to throw more. They are still a lot more disciplined than they have been in the past. And our secondary has now become our strong suit to a degree (even tho those MD WRs dropped like 2 gimmies).

I’d actually push back

Kyle aside

Teams can’t commit gobs of dudes to the run game because your two Ferraris parked out wide, i mean you literally got guys getting stoned at the first defender instead of climbing to the lb/dbs, it’s 5 stars/top 100 guys up and down that line this is a problem

When it’s time for rubber to meet road, you can always say dial up Murda Marv, but one game soon they will be able to manipulate that too, and y’all may be in trouble, Kyle has some skill, that throw in the ND game, game on the line, that’s some 1:1 type shyt, it’s hard when you catch a good qb and you are used to great/exceptional, Kyle will have to play in the system more than adlib

Still too early to say that about McCord. People jumped to those same conclusions about CJ after 3 games and wanted him benched…..for McCord. He’s still developing and needs to get better throughout the season. Even with that, he threw for more yards today than Justin threw in any game his first year up until the scUM game. That just shows you he has ability but he’s still needs to get better.

Eeh

I criticized CJ for not running as much at OSU...but as far as overall talent ( especially in the pocket) him and Kyle shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Hopefully he improves as the season goes on like you say ......but....don't don't look it at all

He's getting better and better every week to me. Just seems like Day & Co. still don't fully trust him yet unless their back is completely against the wall. He needs to get 1 night of sleep tonight then after that, I better not see Marv working no more jug machines by himself at night. McCord needs to be out there throwing the ball to him for extra credit & working on his touch.

There was way too many throws today stopping WRs natural progression/motion to gain more YAC.

I was just reading a post from someone from two years ago that called CJ a less athletic JT Barrett after the Akron game. You have to let them develop.

Also just read on Buckeye Huddle from Alex Gleitman that McCord was questionable today with a lower body injury that shouldn’t be something that lingers for a while.
