Your opinion on something you know very little about, as far as what is going on, means nothing first of all. Ditto for your respect towards him. You don't know what goes on with these deals. 50 cent made MILLIONS off those sneakers. Not to mention it improved the G-Unit brand. When you offer things outside of music G-Unit goes from a brand in music to a lifestyle brand.
Second of all, that doesn't make him a 'hack' the definition of a 'hack' is someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Steve Stoute is a very successful individual. You don't get to his position.by being a 'hack'
The ironic part being your favorite rapper Drake is doing this exact same thing but you don't say a damn thing about it
Then you're misunderstanding what i'm saying.
"HACK" in the sense that he just profits off of black culture in a vapid sense.
"HACK" in the sense that he often speaks in circles to obfuscate his actual goal.
"HACK" in the sense that he derives inherent self worth from things he actually has little to contribute to.
Drake and 50 can sell as many T-shirts as they want...but dudes like Stoute just seem slimy to me.
For instance...he'll look at a dude like 2 Chainz and break down who his fanbase is...and then come back and say, push THIS product to your fans while you sit back and collect on them
Then he walks around saying how he helps the black community.
Nah dude...keep it 100. You just push products on people using celebrities to promote consumerism.
Thats what I hate about all this "industry" talk.
Stoute has no interest in the financial welfare of the black community. If he did, he'd find a way to make money outside of focusing using his celebrity friends to push products back on the same people who buy their records.
He's paid. No doubt...but so what?
Ya'll are quick to tout Jay and Diddy as successes...but they're STILL just overly paid employees.
