Stout doesn't do anything but sell black culture to white people...that is it...that is all he has ever done...that is all he will ever do...
A white company (reebok) needs a black rapper to sell some shoes...but they don't have any idea which black rapper could help them to sell the most...because shyt they are old white people da fukk they know about hip hop...so they go get steve stoute...stoute does some "marketing research" and let's them know Jay-Z is the guy...
Dude makes money but...at what point does he get tired of selling black culture...
Stoute should have enough money by now for everything to not be "about the money"
You see my point precisely.
Dude gets all these accolades for basically catering to the bottom and scraping up funds for a SELECT few black entertainers and then calls it a win.
You telling me 50 Cent REALLY needed Stoute to move product? I mean damn thanks for the deal, but he's an entertainer for goodness sakes...its not gonna take much for that deal to go through.
Stoute is just like these record label execs trying to be celebs. He makes money off of the fame of other people and proclaims it as a win.
I think the best thing he ever did was starting his own ad agency...but I don't think that totally removes his persona as selling shyt to the black community.
I find it hard to respect that...
Let me know when he starts EMPLOYING blacks or creating vehicles of entrepreneurship for minorities...and I know this is much more difficult to do.
Entertainers still represent the vast majority of black wealth. I'm not impressed. No matter how much he wraps it up in "influencing the world" and shyt. Its just business-speak and coded language to try and reshape the dialogue.
