I've tried twice to get through the first season and quit both times. I'm assuming it must have gotten better since time has passed but the premise seems pretty blah and in the first 3 episodes of didn't laugh once.... Unlike the The Good Place which I watched a couple of episodes and next thing I know I ended up watching 4 seasons of it

And I legit know no one who watches this show so the fact they swept every comedy category is wild to me

I know a couple of ladies who love it. One is Puerto Rican the other is mixed.
The show had it's series finale this year so all the Emmys are like a going away present.

def overhyped...i tried watchin a few eps of the first season and was like....:gucci:
I’d say if a person isn’t into British humor(I know it’s Canadian) it probably won’t appeal to most.

American comedies usually have a POV character who we see everything from but this show is more like a BBC comedy where you are watching a bunch of weird people being weird.

Also Eugene Levy and Catherine o Hara are legends in the game and their peers wanted to give them the recognition that they deserve. I do think the show is fine in an "AW isn't that sweet" kinda way.

I watched a few episodes a while back. It wasn't necessarily bad, I just didn't find it funny either. The main characters are entitled, annoying rich white folks. The son is cartoonishly feminine too. I get why white millennials and far left types would like it though

I get the acclaim for the first season, being rich then poor scenario was done right.

After the first season they stopped the fish out of water stuff and had way too much emphasis on a gay relationship.

The first season is funny though and all the actors seemed like they enjoyed being there. But overall it’s trash to me.

That's weird to me cause if felt like they never stopped it. They just became weird next to weird. The son's hipster store doesn't fit into the rest of town. Moira always trying to turn small town plays/musicals into some kind Off-Broadway audition. The dad thinking he was going to turn that rundown motel into a legit business.

The daughter was the only one who was just out-of-place cause she just didn't get how to be in an adult relationship.

That's my appeal to the show.

Sometimes the gag was just some subtle or idiotic way Moira dressed or spoke a certain word.

Roland and Jocelyn not getting how odd they are.

So is it worth watching Its been in my watchlist for a long ass time now, but I never got around to watching. Sometimes when these shows win awards over my pick it pisses me of and I never end up watching out of spite :mjlol:
