Is S7 the WOAT Game of Thrones season?

Season 7 didn't have Dorne in it, so no. Season 5 will always be very bad, Season 7 was bad because it moved away from the source material and there was less storytelling and more big set pieces. And it's bad as in least best, if that makes sense. Like season 2 of The Wire is considered the worst for The Wire's quality.

How I rank the GoT seasons is: Great season [3,4,6] Good season [1,2] Bad [5,7]

Yes. After my rewatch during these last couple months I felt 7 replaced 5 as the worst and the fault falls squarely in the lap of D & D. At the same time we have to realize this isn't what they signed up for. What started off as adaptation, which they did a fantastic job of for the 1st 4 seasons, turned into them becoming content creators and they've failed at that in seasons 5&7. Even 6 had the nonsensical Jon & Sansa beef.

I cant keep track on what nikkas call terrible anymore. Truth is, GOT is so far beyond average TV shows that even at its worst its still leagues above "terrible".

Big Bang Theory has terrible writing, How I met your Mother had terrible writing, Deadly Class and shyt like that are terrible. GOT is leagues above that shyt tier TV even when its fukking around in Dorne with bad fight choreography. I feel like the More shows we get that are great, the higher the bar for "terrible" keeps getting pushed. Its so high now that s7 of thrones is being shyt on? Damn...

Season 5 had high points like Cersei walk of shame and Hardhome. But the worst of their worst was there too (all of those High Sparrow talks, Dorne, Sons of the Harpy). Those just dragged shyt out and felt poorly resolved

S7 at least had Jaime vs Daenerys and the producers said 'we're gonna be shorter but we ain't gonna pretend to be conniving'

Season 3 was the Pinnacle. Starting off season 4 killing Joffrey and then killing off Tywin is what really hurt the show. Luckily they were able to build up a formidable nemesis in Ramsay Bolton. The show messed up with the Church bullshyt in Kings landing, the dorne bullshyt, all the wasted time with Daenerys and with killing off Joffrey and Tywin too early. I don't really get the hate with season 5...isn't that when Jon comes back to life and joins Sansa in reclaiming winterfell? I need to go and reread what happens in season 5 bc I didn't think it was that bad. Season 7 was probably the worse. Show was at it's best when the war of the 5 Kings was the main focus. 8 seasons of that would have been .

Season 7 was much worse than 5. Aside from Dorne, season 5 was just a standard Game of Thrones season. Season 7 was an affront to the series and filled with more plot holes, plot armor and just overall poor writing than the rest of the series combined.

The loot train scene is the only redeeming event of the season along with Cersei scheming. I'd probably have more admiration toward the events in "Beyond the Wall" if weren't for posters sharing their "theories" knowing damn well they're leaked spoilers.
