Movies automatically get bigger by having Leo attached to them. At the same time his lesser movies get brushed over a lot. Nobody talks about Leo and brings up J. Edgar or The Great Gatsby.
Gosling makes great choices too and he's a director's favorite because he is very dedicated to the production. It's also why he doesn't do many blockbusters (guaranteed he only did Blade Runner because of Villeneuve) because he likes to sit and work on things with the director instead of having some studio head call the shots.
