Is Roddy Ricch's snub at the Grammy's one of the biggest in recent history?

He didn't get nominated because they wanted him to perform and he snubbed them for the Super Bowl

What's crazy is they made him choose. They said you could do our show or the Super Bowl, but he was willing to do both. Before they snubbed him, they were even working out the logistics of him doing both.

It doesn't make any sense. It's one thing if the Super Bowl was on a different network, but it was on CBS this year. Promoting Weeknd's performance for one of the year's biggest sporting events a week after performing at the biggest night in music is a no-brainer. The people who watch his Grammy performance and like it will most likely tune in a week later just to see him, even if they don't care about the game.

Of course, COVID delayed the Grammys, but the Super Bowl audience would still show up. Not nominating him for anything is just insanity.

FTR, I'm not a fan of Ricch, but no one can deny how big of a hit "The Box" was. It was not only the #1 rap song in the country, it was one of the longest chart topping songs period. How did this lose to "Savage"? Was it because the Grammy's needed a narrative? You can't even say that "Savage" was big on Tik Tok, because Ricch's song took off due in part to Tik Tok. This is treading into Macklemore territory.

Grammys needed to placate Beyonce and give her another record/award.

Faux women empowerment angle by giving Megan any awards last night, her performance was also ass.

Peep his album, its great

I just watched the Down Below video, that's just not my thing. Not even hating on the kid and wish him well. Something funny though, 10 seconds into that video I said to myself, that's a Compton nikka. Sure enough I checked his Wiki, and I'm right. I ain't never stepped not one foot in Compton, but just his style and big homie's style and their surroundings told me they from Compton in 10 seconds.

I don't watch music videos or "short films" by artists anymore they are either extremely pretentious or too generic.

Please excuse me for being antisocial is a solid listen though, worth the run time

Lil Baby had the biggest year of any street rapper in the last decade next to DaBaby and couldn’t even leave the house and ain’t get nominated for album of the year.

Meg’s push is confusing to me. She’s alright but come on now. Doja Cat will have a longer career than Meg.
He on house arrest?

Hell yeah. That joint The Box or whatever it's called, the single...that shyt was an international smash. I be facetiming (pause) with my cousin out in Germany, he lives on a base out there, and at least 3 times when he was out and about I heard that shyt playing in the background wherever he was at. And of course it was huge here. He shoulda got that.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I’m ok with The Box losing but I think Baby should have won that for making a banger with substance in a year like the one we had.

Savage would have never took off without that teen girl on TikTok making that dance. Meg was in trouble and in the midst of a contractual mess. Then Beyoncé blessed her even further.
None of this matters in the long run of the song is a hit and I can’t fukkin stand Meg at this point. Her music is wack as fukk and she spits the same verse over and over.

I prefer The Box and think it’s the bigger song.

But...

Savage Remix catapulted Megan to stardom, it was the biggest female rap song of 2020, it had Beyoncé RAPPING RAPPING on it, the whole Houston connection, etc

Also a female rapper getting Beyoncé on their song is a huge deal. There isn’t a bigger female feature a female rapper can get than her or Rihanna
