Is Roddy Ricch's snub at the Grammy's one of the biggest in recent history?

Savage has Beyonce, the other does not

had the original version of Savage been nominated, maybe The Box would’ve won

Roddy has been relatively quiet aside from a few features since then though

Grammys is all political. Beyonce wasn’t showing up to take a L

This

Does Beyonce even come to the Grammy's if that song isn't nominated?

People act like children

Santa Claus ain't real

The Grammy's don't care about record sales, hype and people's feelings.

More than welcome to skip the topic entirely. If Meg doesn't get shot (allegedly), she doesn't become the charity case she is.

My issue is the expectation of "fairness" in the Grammy's and it's been explained this has everything to do with the opionion of about 100 people in the Grammy committee, not the "streets"

Lil Baby had the biggest year of any street rapper in the last decade next to DaBaby and couldn’t even leave the house and ain’t get nominated for album of the year.

Meg’s push is confusing to me. She’s alright but come on now. Doja Cat will have a longer career than Meg.

Even if Roddy was more visible, had a larger presence, clout chased/stayed in the news and kissed ass and had massive hype built around himself he still would’ve lost to Meg:yeshrug:

Roc Nation is just too powerful. The partnership might’ve started off sloppy but Meg aligning with them was the smartest move she made because she’s damn near bulletproof now.

I was SUPER surprised because it was nominated in the general field and USUALLY when a song/album is nominated in the general field it has a VERY good chance of winning a Genre category and I didn’t think The Box would suffer from vote splitting in Best Melodic Performance against Rock Star.

I underestimated Anderson.Paak. I didn’t think they’d award a “Message” song or if the did it would be The Bigger Picture but the Grammy committee LOVES Paak.

All in all its a BIG snub but not on the level of Macklemore beating Kendrick. That snub was so egregious that it pretty much ended Macklemore’s career (thankfully). EVERYBODY was rightfully pissed about that shyt.

Naw I don’t see Doja lasting longer than Meg

Meg literally has the entire industry on her side minus Tory Lanez lol

Meg has the Roc Nation backing which means the bigger features + the ppl who solely wanna see her succeed because she got shot + her original fan base

All in all, the Grammys is political. Ppl get snubbed every year

like me and @Easy-E said, if Beyonce didn’t show up there’s a good chance the award wouldve went to someone else but for once, it’s debatable why The Box, Savage or Bigger Picture could’ve won. All 3 are logical picks for valid reasons

The Weeknd not winning album of the year and song of the year

Lil baby not winning rap album of the year

Summer Walker not winning R&B album of the year

All huge snubs and yes the box should’ve won over Savage

Nah Doja will be here longer than Meg

the problem with Meg is that she isn’t versatile enough as song maker for the push she’s getting

Unfortunately when someone drops can sometimes play a role in it.

The Box was def huge but the album came out Dec. 2019. The Box was everywhere for the first 4 months of 2020 but cause of the pandemic that feels like 5 years ago. Savage was everywhere for the summer - fall of 2020 and like someone else said the BeyoncĂŠ stimulus package helps too.

I agree RR got snubbed tho, the album and single were both great

They’re gonna get Meg more looks outside of music to keep her in the picture

she may not be more versatile but the problem with this new generation is most of them make the same record over and over.. it ain’t just her I.E. that Money Bagg I got time beat sound just like the I said somethin beat... and I heard a Travis Scott and Gunna song that was basically a Hot remake.. don’t even let me get started on both Babies

if Meg can make a twerk anthem that can either blow on Tik Tok or have a dance challenge attached to it twice a year like she’s been doing, she should be fine lol

People are throwing out the politics behind Meg but H.E.R. Being front in center of every Grammys is pure politics too

she won a Grammy for a song no one heard. She always performs and is always nominated

John legend won a Grammy :mjlol:
