I mean, she has multiple platinum records. Can’t talk about someone on your show and not expect them to say something back.
It’s a technically, but City Girls have multiple platinum records. Yung Miami has sex worker and sex trafficking allegations.

I still don’t understand how these numbers working. Same with Freeway “What We Do” just going gold. These songs were everywhere all these years and also came out during a time when you could physically buy it but never hit gold. Meanwhile YKPRQ Lil Coli Breh is going diamond in his first year.

nobody was buying singles and the bootleg on them sites was at an all time high. I know Joe did go GOLD from his album, but as far as the single, it wasn't like in the 90s where you had units that you were selling from the single. Also streaming numbers weren't counting for anything yet during 03, 04 05. I believe it started counting in 2010.

I believe with Pump It Up specifically, it was released first on a Fast and Furious soundtrack so idk if that comes into play

It is.

But not simply cause of the track. More of like a historical record of the MC and the media personality.

Y'all forget Budden was the first person to overshare online with Tahiri. He stared this influencer shyt.

He slaughtered the mix tape game.. not as much as Wayne, but his musical accolades come more from his mixtapes. Mood Music series was critically and street acclaimed.

Slaughterhouse was a big thing. Maybe not popwise, but culturally they made a serious mark.

And let's not forget the pod. One of the monsters of the pod game. On par with the tip top influencers of any genre.

SOHH Pump It Up is more of a milestone for the Breh than something I wanna listen to again and again.

Only streaming was Pandora. But it wasn't that big of a deal in my experiences outside of party music or discovery. Still had to burn CDs for the car with mp3s.

That being said I think iTunes sales counted back then.

Marques Houston and Joe Budden Clubbin single was more my Jam when it was all said and done from his commercial relevance 2003 era.

It's not a classic. Just a cheap ass song that was featured on a few mediocre movies.

The focus remix with LL Cool J has more replay value.
