Is "Pump It Up" by Joe Budden a classic hip hop record?

I still don’t understand how these numbers working. Same with Freeway “What We Do” just going gold. These songs were everywhere all these years and also came out during a time when you could physically buy it but never hit gold. Meanwhile YKPRQ Lil Coli Breh is going diamond in his first year.

Word..
I was just on Twitter with this...
This makes literally NO sense at all.

This song was everywhere. A legit hit song.
To this day you can't go to a sporting event And not hear this song once...

Somebody doing Joe dirty as hell.

1. #38 on billboard says it wasn’t everywhere, everywhere is bigger than Hot 97. But the machine also pushed it in venues like movies (u got served?) and games, making it seem like it was everywhere.

2. Can’t compare singles today to back then. Today you have YouTube and Spotify, back then you had to buy singles. Radio and tv only mattered for billboards not your sales.

I believe I bought Budden’s album off the strength of Pump it Up.
