exactly..
alot of folks in this thread, are skating right past the main point of the story..
these women had no history of being Chefs, cooks, etc.. they go to Mexico.. ask around how to make tortillas, from Mexican woman.. after not being shown how, they "peep in windows".. come back to the US.. take these recipes these women from Mexico, and their families have used for probably centuries.. open a food truck.. and, it becomes a hit- based all off some other peoples culture & food techniques..
alot of people dont know what real Mexican food taste like.. probably wouldnt know the difference between a hand-made, and a store bought tortilla.. got folks in here talking about Taco Bell & Chipotle..
i cant even think the last time i ate any of that nasty sh!t..I can't even eat that Bullshyt it makes me sick. When you have real authentic Mexican food you'll never want to eat shyt like taco bell.
Pasta is multicultural breh.
but who fukking cares? its in portland, oregontortillas, from Mexican woman.. after not being shown how, they "peep in windows".. come back to the US.. take these recipes these women from Mexico, and their families have used for probably centuries.. open a food truck.. and, it becomes a hit- based all off some other peoples culture & food techniques..

i absolutely get the outrage if they moved INTO their town in mexico and started a place up, and stole their business, etc, after sharking their recipes. but nothing remotely like that happened at all those women couldnt be less affected by their specific kind of tortilla getting served two thousand miles away by some offbrand food truck
both of you skipped right past the part where i said, neither were Chefs, cooks, etc. before this..What's wrong with that? I really have no problem with what they did. I'm more offended over them caving in to social media pressure and closing the place. There is no patent on food. I kinda wish I would have been in there shoes when the social media pressure kicked in cuz I would have replied to any and everyone to eat fat hearty and veiny dikk.
My dude, who gives a rats ass. Lots of people open restaurants with no experience. It's a tortilla recipe. How many ways you think there are to make one of those simple ass things? Then you fill it with whatever. It's basic food, and it's in Oregonboth of you skipped right past the part where i said, neither were Chefs, cooks, etc. before this..
they have no passion for food.. do they like food.. sure.. but, thats not the case here..
opening a traditional style Mexican food truck.. with no prior experience.. and, admitting to taking the other womens recipes while on vacation to Mexico(which are passed down for centuries).. is..
actually.. neither of you get it.. so, theres really no reason to have this conversation.. Mexican food, and their recipes.. are a huge part of their culture.. clearly.. alot of people take issue with them trying to appropriate other peoples culture for financial gain.. if you dont, thats fine..
i get it i guess i just feel that there are just far greater injustices going on right now than some goofy white bytches making tortillas out of a truck after their mexican vacationboth of you skipped right past the part where i said, neither were Chefs, cooks, etc. before this..
