alot of folks in this thread, are skating right past the main point of the story..
these women had no history of being Chefs, cooks, etc.. they go to Mexico.. ask around how to make tortillas, from Mexican woman.. after not being shown how, they "peep in windows"..
come back to the US.. take these recipes these women from Mexico, and their families have used for probably centuries.. open a food truck.. and, it becomes a hit- based all off some other peoples culture & food techniques.. alot of people dont know what real Mexican food taste like.. probably wouldnt know the difference between a hand-made, and a store bought tortilla.. got folks in here talking about Taco Bell & Chipotle..

I think the way the article was written makes this seem like a hobby to them..
Whole thing reads like an "2 Broke Girls","Eat,Pray,Love" type trip..
Granted some pop ups lead to actually brick and mortar restaurants, the article made it seem like a quick lick by girls who probably don't even cook like that..
Couple this with (from articles I've read and from one of my patnas living there) it is a huge undertone of racism, especially pockets of activity from the kkk and being Trump's America, them chicks didn't want them problems..
I really don't care on the matter and not defending them beckies(just a black man trying not to end up dead on the Summer Jam Screen), just seeing it from a different angle as to the cause of them closing down their pop up
