can't front i played it a lot and super thug killed the clubs but classic? nah it was a for the moment album. great production and nore had a lot of charisma/personality to go with that so it really worked at that time

but rhyme wise i really wish he built on the structure and style he was using on war report, he was so much better under khadafi's tutelage man.. shame they fell out

Our music and culture has become so pussi and effeminate compared to the content on this album.
Nore was like what a 21 savage is today.
We didnt hold him to be a lyricist he was more of a Thug who could spit a lil something ..tho his geographical origin was never in question but i digress...
:francis:
I personally fukk wit N.O.R.E. hardbody...if you dont like this you are effeminate....period lol

New York fukkin' City
Hip Hop classic, no, but its in my top 10 personal goat albums. Still gets constant play. Nore was in his own world. Everything about this album is perfect .

Great era in rap, my favorite time in hip hop. That summer was just unreal with music. My crew all just started driving so wed just cruise around bumping nore, x, canibus, pun, bad boy, etc... having the times of out lives. NY really took hip hop back from the west at this time. GOAT period in hip hop. This thread got me all in my feels .

Likewise, breh....

Got my license and first car that summer too so can totally relate.

Funny side story:

Like I said, got my license and first car that summer so naturally had to also buy some jacked up system and bootleg speakerbox for the trunk. Bought the shyt from a guy I knew who worked at some bodega in Bushwick. :shaq2:

Anyway, I remember paying my friend's Uncle in a six pack of Corona to hook it up for me and can still see him working on it while we had that N.O.R.E. album on repeat.

Long story short, I'm driving down the block a few days later, car is packed full of my crew, music on blast and I see smoke billowing outta my trunk, so I pull over and pop it and a fukkin fireball shoots out :ooh:

Turns out my this guy hooked the whole sound system up DIRECTLY to the car's battery causing me to fry the whole shyt, battery, speakers, amp, everything. Trunk looked like I torched a body in it. :sadcam:

Anytime that N.O.R.E. album comes on it takes me back to that moment - every single time. :russ:
