He has at least one MVP too many …he’s double dipping on legacy points with all this lowered expectations “OMG my god…look at this burden of trash teammates he’s had to endure :damn:“ shyt …while at the same exact time rewarded an MVP leading a team to the 6th seed, which I was vocal about in real time…mainly because of stuff like this: the historical weight the award has an all time accolade….as is, with 3 MVPs and a Finals MVP there’s no way he’s not in the top 20…he’d have the 4th MVP locked up this season too if not for Shai basically having a peak MJ type season, and I’m still not convinced the voters won’t give it to Joker as “voter fatigue” seemingly doesn’t apply to him …he’ll end up the most decorated big other than Kareem and be in GOAT convos…:russ: @ “top 20”

MVPs + Finals MVPs. Look how accurate this list is

That’s from 2023, so Jokic is now at 4.

I don’t think regular season mvp should weigh more than Finals MVP so I wouldn’t have him top 10, but he’s closer than you’d think and if he somehow gets a 2nd ring/fmvp he’s flirting with top 5 :damn:

All this is without a prime HOF teammate which almost everyone else had. Hell he’s actually never had a prime ALL STAR teammate :ohhh:
There are so many other factors than just MVP and Finals MVP. How about DPOY? All NBA and All Defense selections. All Star Berths, etc
More mvps than Kobe and Shaq combined

Led his team to a championship with zero all stars

Looking at the roster he’s had. These guys are all bums.
This is the shyt that needs to stop. He’s not playing with bums. How many games has Jamal Murray won for them in the playoffs and been their closer? Dude has scored 50+ a few times. The game in which Joker had the 60pt triple double, Gordon scored 30. MPJ is averaging like 18ppg and was once the #1 ranked player in his class.

He said 20-35 that's why I stopped. If you wanna just count accolades there's a whole bunch of guys with more rings than Joker that I could name, and I didn't even bring up the fact that Jokic got some of his MVPs easier than some other players who got robbed. :hubie:

No way you can dismiss Wade, Pippen, Isiah or West. I'll give you Dirk and replace him with Kawhi. :manny:

So is your comment referring to accolades or rings? 2 different things. Yall aren’t making sense bc you’re trying too hard to be dismissive :francis:

Ie listing Dirk ahead of Jokic. :what:Thats a pretty straight forward comp. Both have unique play style so that cancels out. Neither played defense so that cancels out. Both have 1 ring and 1 Finals MVP that cancels out. But Jokic has 3 MVPs to 1. And historically unique stats (while scoring the same). So what possible argument can you have for Dirk over him?!? There is none hence dudes start getting into dismissing MVPs and ‘forgettable rings’ :snoop:

And that was me who mentioned 20-35. Ima need that…at your soonest

1. Mike
2. Bron
3. Kareem
4. Magic
5. Wilt
6. Shaq
7. Bird
8. Kobe
9. Duncan
10. Russell

Haggle with the order if you like, but that’s about as consensus a top 10 as you can get. There is no conversation at ALL for top ten. None.

11. Hakeem
12. Steph
13. Oscar
14. KD

I think Jokic with 1 ring enters here. With Giannis, Dirk, KG. And he clears all of them.

Now Jokic with another ring and FMVP?!? Oh yall might lose your shyt bc he’d be at WORST in that 11 slot AHEAD of Hakeem and he’d have a strong argument in the top 10 vs Bird, Kobe, and Duncan.

You forgot

Jerry West
Moses Malone
Dr. J
John Havlicek

but yes, he belongs in top 20.

You right. Moses is one of the most disrespected legends

West yea but… That’s what’s crazy about Jokic. He has 3 MVPs and West has 0. It’s hard to view a current player the same as an iconic legend, but really think about it. What does West have over Jokic?

Doc is a hard rate. When he came over he wasn’t dominating like he was in the ABA. And super low key, he might not have been the best player on a lot of his teams. I’m not just talking Moses either. Before that. George McGinnis was averaging 20 and 10 on them teams.

Above the fray.
Question:

Let’s say Derrick Rose never played again after tearing his ACL. ROY, 3x All Star, MVP, All NBA 1st Team in 4 seasons. Is his career better than that of say…Vern Fleming? 12 year career with career average of 11 and 5 assists. Never won any major awards and never been to a finals.
Absolutely. Rose dominated the league. Best rookie in his class, and reached top echelon of 1st team all NBA. Team reached Conference Finals with him as the lead guy.

Excelled, made playoffs regularly, broke through and got to the ECF

Stellar NBA career if it ended there

No way was George McGinnis better than Dr J on those 6ers teams. McGinnis was a chucker while Doc was a team player trying to make everyone feel comfortable.

We saw what Dr J was doing come playoff time and what McGinnis was.

McGinnis was a bad bad man. Dominated the ABA along with Doc and a handful of others, and was making All NBA teamsvwhen the merger happened.

Doc is a historically great and exciting player, but he has some great teammates on those Sixers teams, too.

Rest in Peace to GM. Oldheads in Philly loved his game and spoke highly of him.

He was bad in the ABA but when Dr J came to 6ers he should’ve deferred more
