I say yes simply based on resume. At the same time though, I look at someone like KG who has two less MVPs and no Finals MVP, but I still rank KG higher because he was surrounded by shyt on Minnesota for years, and they even got screwed over for years with the Joe Smith trade where they didn’t get a 1st round draft pick for like 5 years. When he finally went to a team with another star at the tail end of his prime, he won immediately. If KG played in this era with more freedom to showcase his skills, who knows what type of potential he would’ve displayed? What if Stephon Marbury never leaves? What if he left Minnesota earlier?

Jokic doesn't rank anywhere.

These discussions should be reserved until a player's prime is over (or at the very least, when they're at the end of it).
He can definitely be ranked. That doesn’t mean he’s where he’s gonna be once his career is over, but there are PLENTY of players who have had longer careers that his career is better than.

ITS TOO EARLY...

IF HE RETIRES IN 10 YEARS
AND STILL ONLY HAS 1 RING
I GUARANTEE HE WOULD
BE RANKED LOWER IN 10 YEARS
THAN WHEREVER PPL
HAVE HIM RANKED RIGHT NOW.

GOTTA LET IT PLAY OUT.

FOR EXAMPLE
GIANNIS WAS VIEWED
HIGHER A FEW YEARS AGO
THAN WHERE HES CURRENTLY VIEWED

Jordan was ranking before he had rings....folks wanted to be Like Mike in the 80s. You had ring getting players saying Michael was one of the best players ever In the 80s.

Shaq was a 50 greatest player 4 years in, right? No rings and no MVPs, right?

Joker at least has a ring and MVPs. Why can't he be in the convo of top 20?

I can only speak for myself, but I only like ranking players in an all-time context if I have the totality of their work to judge (or they're nearing the end of their primes, like Steph). It's just a needless argument to be having, especially since it only encourages having these discussions well before they're even warranted.

He has one of the highest peaks in NBA history and we can appreciate his play in the now.

We can acknowledge all that without talking about all-time ranking.

Would you put Moses Malone in the top 20? He has 3 MVPs, a Finals MVP and 1 ring like Jokic, so I would guess it would be more about his cumulative stats over his career (like being #12 and #5 all time in points and rebounds respectively). And yes, I have Malone ranked higher than Jokic right now.

These Top lists aren't real. They mean absolutely phuck all and people have been giving them far too much power over the last few decades that its all they bother to talk about it. It is a pointless distraction as there is no right or wrong answer because its one idiots favourites list over another idiots favourites list over another idiots favourites list.
