Shut the fukk up. I immediately realized it wasn’t him after a while. How bout all the people who thought Angelous was Jay Z? They actually went on the streets and was playing people Angelous tracks and everyone thought it was Jay. And this nikka @Cladyclad is in every Nas thread just straight up dikkriding. nikka a bigger Nas fan than anyone on this site.

Nah, no excuses. There's a whole lot of "this is Nas' best work since Illmatic!" all over that thread. I NEVER heard anyone claim that Sacario and Angelous were putting up work comparable to Reasonable Doubt or The Blueprint during those years.

It really says a lot about the fanbase that the majority of you boys thought that weak shyt was Nas and conveniently stopped liking the project when you found out it was some strange drugged out white boy

I like nas as a artist

But people don’t want to admit if Jay didn’t say his name in takeover and let memphis stand up on his own, nas would have been out of here..

That's the harsh truth. That beef is just a minor footnote in Jay's career, whereas you can't tell the story of Nas' without two things: 1. Illmatic; 2. Ether. Every year that fanbase treats its December 4th anniversary like it's a public holiday the way they commemorate that event. Jay breathed fresh life into his dwindling career

Not to Jay stans. It's why yall still obsessed with Nas and trying to diminish his career nearly a quarter century later.

nikka

Nastradamus droppin 99 and people laughed at that album.. he was missing for 2 years and i know he was dealing with his mom health

But the truth is DMX smashed his spot and was acting as well and Jay was still on top and Dr Dre chronic 2000 pop off and Em blew up

Nas was not on anyone on the commercial level radar and was gone and jay brought him back to life

You literally got more posts about Nas than anybody on this board. Because you still mad he dissed Jay and Kobe 20+ years ago.

You also the CEO of the stanbase that would take dinner with their hero over $500,000. So no leg to stand on about anyone else stans being weird or obsessive :mjlol:

Come on bruh, I'm familiar--there's not a single Jay thread that you don't welcome yourself into to let off your hate. You got no leg to stand on.

You and the rest of the fanbase should be thanking Jay everyday for going at Nas because his career would look something similar to Raekwon's had he not, and I say that with all due respect. "Ether" is his shining moment, Jay's story can be told in complete without even mentioning this little side beef.

Gods Son is one of Nas worst produced albums. That shyt is a HUGE step back from Stillmatic

Stillmatic is a little more consistent but I don't see it as a huge drop. God's Son still has Get Down, Made You Look, Heaven, three Alchemist bangers, etc.

Let's keep it real the drop in production quality from Blueprint to Blueprint 2 is MUCH worse.

That's a fact, don't forget Nastradamus dropped a month before Vol. 3 and And Then There Was X and barely debuted inside the Top 10.

Meanwhile both Jay and X's combined for almost 10 million sold, and that's with Jay's album hitting the streets a month before the retail release.

He was down lower than Kendrick was after he dropped Mr. Morale

This is :duck: revisionist history aside from Nastradamus being a disappointment.

Nas had the opening verse on the song that broke the record for most weeks at #1 on the rap charts, that was in early 2000. That shyt was getting constant airplay for a year.

The remix with Joe and Mariah was also a big hit in 2000. Oochie Wally was a big hit first half of 2001. Classic guest spots on the CNN and Wu albums in 2000.

DMX, Eminem and Dre was gonna do what they was gonna, Nas was never on that level commercially.
