He’s not a great beat picker tho, No one will ever name Nas when discussing the best best pickers of his generation let alone all of hiphop

Albums like Gods son and Street disciple are some of the worse produced albums of Nas generation

Thecoli has been trying to create this narrative that Nas isn’t a bad beat picker since LIG. I honestly believe Nas Stan’s don’t listen to enough rap to know what great production is
i agree that he's not the best. But he's not the worst either.

This never should have been a narrative. It was created by people who don't understand the process and were more upset that Nas doesn't work with their favorite producers. Nas explained on "Book of Rhymes" how he works. He isn't "picking beats". He writes on the spot and creates with the producer. He isn't mulling through beat tapes or CD's or files these days. He's rejected entire discs of beats before.
