I'd argue Martin could rank third behind Cosby Show and A Different World. In terms of individual moments Martin had some of the funniest in T.V. history. Martin had a lot of downright bad episodes though (and not just the ones in later seasons).

The first season of A Different world was straight up wack, but from that point on shyt was piff. Series still holds up to this day.

Cosby Show is just the King, shyt was consistently funny, had memorable moments, high ratings, critical acclaim won awards. And I don't want to hear any of that "nikkas in the hood wasn't checking for the cosby show" bullshyt because Nielsen data showed it was the top ranked sitcom in black households while it was running.

i was a nucca in the hood and i was watching. without the cosby show and a different world. a lot of hood nuccas would not have gone to college(black colleges were not even in the thought process for a lot of black folks until those shows pushed them). people dont realize how POWERFUL those two shows were. Martin..the black version of seinfield or i should say seinfield is the white/jewish version of martin. Living single was the black version of frie... wait, Friends was the white version of living single. lets keep it 1000.

those might be the LAST black shows that had comedy but not bafoonery c00nery as its essence, while at the same time showed black people in a good light as far as being professionals and what not.

Yeah dont get me wrong... I thought it was funny... But When you hear Marlon and Wayans speak in real life, and you know the history behind their family it was obvious these dudes (atleast Marlon) just act "stupid" for the show...
