That's not true. By the time DBZ reached Cartoon Network the violence remains exact same as the Japanese version. One of Cartoon Networks selling points when they dubbed DBZ was retaining the original Japanese violence

The reason the manga is more violent in comparison is because of animation constraints

For example the panel of Gohan killing the Cell Jr is different in the anime because it would take too much time to animate the details like eyes and pieces of brain

Z stopped broadcasting in 97? If im not mistaken
the laws changed Since 2014 they been on that wave its mostly because of hentai stuff was rampant but lately its been even more strict combine that with DB more mainstream worldwide audience so they toned it down to avoid editing it to save time to pump the product out faster ,hence why super at the beginning the animation was Janky. Also toei being cheap and working animators to dust like coach Thibs players Knees
The rumor is DB coming back with 2 different shows a web one and a broadcast one. The anime been off air for 5 years now

Show is huge world wide and the new snowflake media even and Master Roshi cancelled in (funnily enough was the episode when he decided to work on not being a perv by Weinsteining Puar till he got it out his system) Argentina which is a huge market in south america got super reruns off cartoon network on the whole south and central America for a while. Buu might be the "purest" but he was still a very mid villain, probably the worst in DBZ.

He has no backstory or agency, he's just a monster-of-the-week that somebody summoned who will destroy everything if he's not stopped, just because. Unlike Vegeta, Frieza, or Cell he has no real connections to anybody in the story, nor does he have any backstory or real motive. He's basically just a movie villain who got a lot of screentime.
