NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
He just started acting pretentious and like he was above rap and the rubes bought into it lol
No he hasn't. Where u get that from? Actually he got criticized for disrespecting legends. Went back. Apologized. Worked on his craft and works with alot of local talent in different states. Let alone he writes and produces for alotta people behind the scenes. nikkas don't have to like son but to hate on his progression is corny.

You clearly missed his entire campaign heading into his Let’s Start Here album. He was parading around acting like he was above rap music, only to drop the watered down Temu version of an “alternative” album that he of course got praise for for being “different”. He’s RECENTLY trashed rap music, so you gotta get outta here with “hating on his progression”. All he is is the Black Post Malone.

Maybe you are unfamiliar with what he is doing. I'm far from a fan and still looking forward to solo work that catches my ear but you can't overlook the fact that he got on tracks with the Flint rappers

That statement can stand on its own if you know what I'm talking about, but basically any rapper in the mainstream that is willing to collaborate with a local movement is upper echelon in artistry and character

i agree him putting on for the Flint/Detroit nikkas was dope

I'll say this.. he should've never gave drake his swag cause all his songs sound like Her Loss / For All the Dogs b sides now. He gotta switch the flow up like he did with James Blake

Lil Yachty was smart. He pivoted and adapted to a sound that was more futuristic with than his peers and stayed low key and collaborated with up and comers. He stopped trying to appeal to our generation’s sound and skipped ahead to sounds the younger generations were adopting. So he was building an even younger fanbase that was soon to come not focusing on the mainstream that already existed. He kept his image fun and playful enough which is why he landed a song for a movie as big as Despicable Me 4. Not to mention, his podcast also serves as another avenue to keep him top of mind with certain demographics as well which definitely helps funnel that audience to his music as well. Yachty may not make the best music but him and his team have smartly moved which is why he is going to continue to outlast and remain relevant longer than some of his peers.
