Check his stats for the last decade. Check his MVP totals for the past decade. Check his skillset.
LeBron's props were well past due. The ring was the only knock on him and that argument wasn't valid anyway.
He's not top 5 because he won a ring. He's top 5 because you can't name 5 players better than him.

Who's top 5? I can't tell you the last time ive seen him in anyone's top 5. Players in the last 30 years been surpassed Oscar.
Rings and accolades are one part of a players historically greatness along with individual talent. By 1989 Jordan was already a better player then magic or bird, but he wasn't considered greater in a historical sense until he racked until his body of work blew them both out of the water
