In some strange way, I think the Jordan hype is what evolved this new era of hype with guys like Lebron. Just like their salary contracts....there is overhype and overanticipation on everything...the league was desperately looking for a Jordan replacement after he retired...and Lebron was that protege....

I don't know why you say "In a strange way", because that's EXACTLY what happened and everyone knows it. Jordan was the biggest star on the planet and the NBA/media/Nike has been trying to replicate it ever since. We've seen it with Grant Hill, Vince Carter, everybody, and particularly with Kobe and LeBron.

And that's the way it's SUPPOSED to be. Somebody builds something, then the next guy comes and builds on top of that, etc., etc. It's no different than Mike taking the mantle from Magic who took it from Dr. J, and so on.

An Ohio lawmaker wants to create LeBron James license plates

The state of Ohio already has more than 150 different license plates. State representative Bill Patmon wants to add one more to commemorate LeBron James’ return to Cleveland. The plates would include the tag “LeBron James Witness 2.0.” According to the AP, Patmon has already helped create a specialty plate honoring Superman.
