If he had so much power, why did he not recruit the players he wanted the first time in Cleveland?

And when talking about 1st overall picks, it's not like we're talking about Chris Webber or Shaquille O'neal.
shyt, he was recruiting then, just nobody wanted to come. It's not like he's asking guys to come to Los Angeles or Miami (:troll:) or New York or something.

But I don't think there's ever been an athlete in team sports who has both recognized and USED the leverage that he has like LeBron has done. Hell, from here on out LeBron will probably have player options for each season of his contract... I think we're going to, thirty years down the line, look at LeBron as the guy who changed the game for players from a financial/business/contractual standpoint.

I'm not sure why people keep mentioning Michael Jordan.

Jerry Krause stayed ignoring Michael Jordan's pleas to draft certain players (usually UNC guys) like Joe Wolf and shyt. And Mike wanted the Bulls to bring back Phil and Pippen and 'em after they won the sixth title and they decided the move was Tim Floyd. :snoop:

Imagine a GM saying after LeBron's team won the title... "Players don't win championships, organizations do."

LeBron literally has the Cavs in a stranglehold.

But it does need to be said that BECAUSE of Michael Jordan and superstar players before him, LeBron is able to do the shyt he's doing now.

They say before LeBron left Cleveland Dan Gilbert was giving dude free access to his private jet and LeBron and his crew was taking that shyt everywhere which is why Gilbert was so mad when LeBron left because he was giving him total power over the organization.

They even built their practice facility close to LeBron's house in Akron to appease him. That's bigger than the Lakers having helicopters to pick up Kobe.

Hard to say...it's either him or Jordan...I mean Jordan literally "industrialized" the NBA...

Lebron has caused seismic shifts that were unheard of though based on his personal decisions....

I remember when Jordan first retired in 1994....and the media coverage of that was NOTHING compared to when Lebron first decided to go to Miami...or when he decided to go back to Cleveland.

I swear the Earths axis shifts a little whenever Lebron has a "decision" to make.

Breh 1994 = No twitter, no Facebook, no Smartphones, no social media of any kind. Can you imagine if that was around when Jordan retired? The country would have shut down.
