Overpaid for on court production? He was the 2nd leading scorer in the league you rock head muthafukka
He was the second leading scorer, because he took by far the most shots in the league you moron. His efficiency was by far the worst of his career. Kobe was not efficient last year.

But of course idiots like you can't comprehend what efficiency is.

Kobe Bryant is a basketball legend, and as such many people may bristle at his inclusion on this list. However, Berri contends that the player’s sterling reputation is something of a mirage. “The media says Kobe was one of the best players in the game in 2011-12,” he said “But the numbers tell a different story.”

According to Berri, Bryant’s scoring simply comes down to the fact that he takes a lot of shots. “But in contrast to past years, Kobe’s shooting efficiency was below average for a shooting guard, and inefficient shooting doesn’t produce wins,” he said. “However, if you take enough shots you can still score enough points to convince fans – and the media – that you are actually helping a team win.”

He is right.

Can you comprehend being the only perimeter scoring threat on the entire team and having to bail out the offense with less than 4 on the shot clock. But numbers don't tell you that

:snoop:

Kobe has been doing that his entire CAREER and he is not the only player that does that. His shot selection was just terrible this year. He took way too many 3's. He took 5 3's a game and he was only hitting them at a 27% clip. Don't blame it on the shot clock either. He took most of those 3's with 12 seconds left on the clock. Kobe didn't play within his limitations last year. He tried doing things that his body isn't capable of doing anymore.

No, I'm a Lakers fan who is objective. For some reason to you guys anyone who points out the obvious when it comes to Kobe is a hater. Guess what, he isn't a perfect player. Deal with it.

There are two parts to the argument:

1. Do the Lakers as a franchise get their money's worth for what they pay Kobe? The answer to that is yes and it's a no brainer.

2. Do the Lakers as a basketball team get their money's worth for what they pay Kobe? The answer to that is a definite no. With the current salary cap and CBA, there are much better uses of $25-$30 million in this league when you only look at on court production. Durant, Westbrook, and Harden could be had for what Kobe is being paid.

Wow you are an idiot. 27% from 3 is a good percentage to you?

Did you even watch Kobe last year? His shot selection was HORRID.

That's why he went weeks without shooting above 40%.

Look at how many games Kobe shot below 30%!

Kobe Bryant 2011-12 Game Log | Basketball-Reference.com

21 games shooting under 40%

14 games shooting under 35%

9 games shooting under 30%

Kobe shot terribly last year. Only a stan would argue otherwise. His shot selection was the worst I've ever seen.
