What I will say is that I won't know until it actually happens. There were guys I thought would be great offensive players in the right situation and then they got in that situation and it didn't pop, and the opposite as well. But I just don't see it with Kawhi. I'll say this though, he strikes me as the type of cat who works on his game hard body in the offseason so I wouldn't be surprised if he DEVELOPED the offensive game to be an elite/superstar level player.i think he would be a more creative offensive player if he was given a chance. I've seen him break down a defense, get in the lane, and make some very advanced, PG-type reads. However, he has to work within the Spurs system, which doesn't allow much freelancing or ball stopping.
He's definitely not on hardens level as a ball handler, but very few are. And that's something he could improve upon I'm sure. He's already so much better off the dribble than when he first came in, that would just be the logical next progression. I just see a guy who has a very good all around offensive game with room to improve still
I get debates and shyt but I hate when ppl act like they know what would happen in hypothetical scenarios. "If X team didn't have any injuries they'd have 3 rings by now." "If X player was the main focus he's putting up 15/5/6 stop it B" type of stupid ass opinionated comments. Nobody knows what would happen in those types of scenarios cuz they didn't happen. Anyways Kawhi is a star in this league right now
Absolutely not. If he was the #1 option and a team could focus its defensive game plan on stopping Kawhi Leonard, no way in hell he averages 25, and certainly not in a playoff series. And if Kawhi Leonard is your number one go-to scorer and you need him to get 25 every night to win, that team isn't winning 30 games. I just don't see it. He's not creative offensively at all.
This season, only LeBron James, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook put up more than 25 points per game. You think Kawhi Leonard belongs on that list?![]()

He's on his way that dunk yesterday was one of the best I seen
Where did you get that from? But if you CAN'T score points at a high clip, how can you be a SUPERstar? We're not talking about a very good player. We're not talking about being an All-Star. We're talking about being a superstar, which I classify as basically one of the elite players in the game. Name a SUPERSTAR at that position from history that wasn't able to score at a high clip. I'll wait.So you only base being a superstar on scoring points i see. Foh
