He was statistically the worst center in the league when it comes to defense, which is one of the things that was supposed to be a strong point for him.

@Raul odd how you don't mention the shortcomings of your fellow Dominican :sas2:

You can tell who doesn't watch Wolves game or who watch them with rose tinted glasses. For all the impressive things Towns does, he also just straight up gives up on defensive possessions when the offensive one doesn't seem to go his way, whines a lot about foul calls, and has awful decision making when he gets crowded by multiple defenders. I give both Wiggins/Towns a pass somewhat that they got shytty shooters/offensive players around them, but there's no excusing consistently going up against 2/3 defenders in the paint always trying to get an and 1 play like Towns does.

He's an impressive offensive player, but anyone that has read my posts should know that I'm pretty consistent in valuing two way players. If Towns actually tried on defense the Wolves would have made the playoffs, like dudes don't notice how important it is for your C to be good defensively, to the point that Rudy Gobert was more valuable to his team this year than Towns.

Surely a Kobe stan isn't talking about watching players with rose-tinted glasses.

Towns also doesn't have an excuse of lack of lateral quickness or just lacking athleticism. It's not like he's Kanter, he just doesn't give as much energy on defense as he does on offense(much like Westbrook).

He wastes most of his energy attacking the boards than actually playing sound defense.

He's got that KD/LeBron mentality where he's more focused on numbers than winning.
