Aldo defended his shyt for a decade and was already a living legend before McGregor was famous. He didnt need to stake a claim, it was a perfect lucky punch that put msgregor on the map

Jon Jones is by far the best, most skilled, most naturally gifted UFC fighter I have ever seen compete in years of watching UFC and combat sports.

He's the Pound for Pound best fighter in the world when he has trained.

Conor is one of my favorite fighters, but Jon Jones is overall better. Striking and counterstriking is the category where McGregor is better, but everything else Jon Jones is far better:

-Octagon control
-Kicking
-Elbows from the top and the bottom
-The insane ability to beat fighters at their own game (Machida, Sonnen)
-Stamina (5 rounds vs Gustafsson and he was not gassed)
-Grit (he can take a beating and will still win
-Jerk personality which really helps in lead ups of fights
-Funny though
-His takedown defense is strong
-He can take fighters down or wherever he wants in the ring actually

Had he not had all that side bullshyt.. he'd be the champ right now and Cormier would be off our radar, he would've retired by now and be a full-time analyst and coach.

If he is still in the ufc i think hes top 3 only bc he is a beast but he hasnt had a clean fight in a while. Gotta be in in to be the best. Cheating dont count

its a damn shame breh couldnt keep his life together and is self sabotagin

when he was defending his belt, he said he would train half ass, be partying and taking cocaine staying up late and night, and still come in on fight night and be whupping dudes asses

the only fight i really wanna see at this point is stipe vs JJ, which i honestly think JJ might win it.

i considered silva one of the goats, but i thiknk hes been popped 2x for roids, and now i question his entire legacy

JJ been popped, but it looks like contamination or something, as opposed to knowingly taking a substance

silva on the other hand, appears to have been taking roids for performance intentionally

it also doesnt help that chael sonnen literlaly beat the breaks off of silva for 4.5 rounds

JJ never been dominated by anyone, closest was gustafson who had his moments, but never dominated like silva was

Yeah but his lack of competition puts him behind GSP imo. I feel Aldo doesn’t get enough credit too.

You gotta say GSP is the GOAT, fought a murderers row of welterweights and completely dominated them. Avenged his only 2 losses. Never popped. Came back from retirement, moved up and won the title there.

gsp def gotta be in contention. he avenged all of his loses, and fought and defended his belt in a stacked ass division

i give gsp even more credit, cuz he fought in a crazy era where everyone was juicing up, and he appears to be clean. unlike silva and JJ, gsp never been popped for nothing. gsp says he left the sport for 4 years due to the rampant roiding, which appears to be the case if you look at dudes like hendricks, etc.
