crazy to think that him and dicaprio were both in gilbert grape (1993,)

and then each took completely opposite career paths.

leo did titanic, and regrets it to this day, because he felt like people viewed him as a "pop actor," so he's spent the rest of his career in serious characters, and even turned down the part of neo in the matrix, because he was worried it would be titanic pt. 2.

johnny depp did serious movies for the next 10 years, then said f*ck it and cashed in in 2003 with pirates, and has been doing that trash for a decade now.

all in all, when you line up their filmographies next to each other, leo kills him from top to bottom.

depp is like the male megan fox. your girl loves him, and will watch whatever he's in, which inflates his box office numbers. guy could never carry a lead role, IMO.

Man, you have too work hard to post so much bullshyt:whew:

Dude has been playing weird roles from day one and he's still doing that. Nobody thought that Pirates would be a mega hit, Disney was scared it would be a flop and when the project started it was a direct-to-video flick and was going to star Christopher Walken or Cary Elwes. Also the last big pirate movie before Pirates flopped hard (Cutthroat Island) and Gore Verbinski had never done action or adventure. Depp deserve a movie franchise.

my bad.

i guess i should have given depp more credit for daring to take on the lead role in a disney movie based on a theme park ride, with co-stars like keira knightly and legolas. brave of him to roll the dice on an indie project like that :birdman:
