that wasnt a trilogy though

I know, in terms of Hopkins fights is pretty much what I meant. I was going off the previous post. For the sake of the thread, the trilogy itself was historical good or bad but the 3rd Duran/Leonard fight was disappointing if I can just take one fight out of a trilogy.

:comeon:

we just gonna forget robert allen vs hopkins, hands down the most pointless fukkin trilogy ever. i can't even get past the first fight :snoop:

but i aint mad at holyfield vs ruiz :manny: low key valuev beating ruiz was one of my fav boxing moments in the 00's.

Breh... i came in here specifically to mention this :pachaha:

His whole Middleweight run was pretty pointless up until Trinidad.

Somewhat shameful how B-Hop stayed camped out in that dead ass division feasting on a weightclass full of Robert Allan's when he was really a natural Light Heavyweight and could've easily moved up in weight and got better fights with more quality opponents.

And say what you want about Ruiz... despite his physical & athletic limitations, he built a pretty solid resume and made a nice chunk of change for himself as a 6'2" 225 lb man in an era of Super Heavyweights. And had underrated skills and craftiness. He straight up schooled Holyfield in that 1st fight, had him winning more rounds against Holy than Lewis did just a few months earlier. And he only needed one try to beat Rahman :mjpls:

Exactly. So much anticipation for nothing, even the tagline on the poster was cool "Uno Mas". So much potential......

:snoop:

Well... Duran was just coming off an unexpectant win over Iran Barkley... who had just KO'd Hearns a year earlier.... who had fought Leonard a few months previous and dropped him twice and was on the receiving end of a dodgy descision in most people's eyes.

So i'm assuming that all of these factors made the fight alot more interesting from the perspective of the fans & media.

Beating Barkley was very impressive which only added more hype.

Brolic... Alcoholics
Taylor/Hopkins was much more frustrating.
That wasn't a trilogy and I blame the lameness of the fights on Hop. In both fights he would come on late. He could've easily took that boy to school.

He did the same shyt with Pascal in the first fight. And if he would've boxed instead tryna brawl in the 12th against Pascal, he would've won.

I will never for the life of me understand why Ruiz was shoved down our throats like that. I'm Rican but I never fukked with dude at all. He's a bytch nikka and the textbook definition of a paper champion. fukk that dude :pacspit:

*Goes and watch Ruiz get knocked out by Tua over and over again*
