:russ: The next MJ, the next Nas, the next Pac, better than Denzel, better than Carl Franklin, etc etc. Let these folks be themselves first and solidify their careers. Y’all be bringing unnecessary hate to these bruhs with these comparisons lol.

Yes. At this point his Coogler's career, is where Spike was at Malcolm X.

Spike lost his fast ball or at least consistency after that, but I can't put coogler above him at this point in his careers. Malcom X and Do the right thing are better than all Coogler movies thus far.
shiiid coogler make a mo better blues.. then we can talk

Yall saw Judas and The Black Messiah and are still making this statement:comeon:

I didnt think X was that good before I knew anything about Malcolm X. It gets worst after you learn about Malcolm X. That whole little bullshyt section where hes doing the jitterbug with Spike Lee and has a white woman couldve been left out. 30-45 minutes of time wasted just so Spike could get some screen time I guess. Then dont get me started on Denzels portrayl where he plays Denzel, and doesnt look anything like Malcolm X.

I definitely dont think this should be the quintessential Malcolm X biography. Maybe Coogler can be tapped to do another one:respect:

Too early, but if I’m keeping it a buck I only liked Malcolm X, He Got Game, School Daze, The Inside Man, and Do the Right Thing from Spike Lee.

Some of his other work that is revered I thought was kinda meh.

That said I’m going to give Spike the benefit of doubt just based on consistency and say Coogler hasn’t passed him yet, but I think he eventually will.

I already personally prefer Coogler’s work.

Spike was at his time
Coogler is at this time

I dont wanna compare black on black

Coogler>>>>>>>>>>> that hack Zack Snyder

Aside from them being black filmmakers what exactly do they have in common? Coogler is more sci-fi/action and Spike is drama/comedy. They don't even work in the same genres.
