Broner showed some dog in the Vargas fight even tho he fukked up, again, weight wise cause it was pose to at 140 right and they changed it to 144 or was that the Granados scrap where they changed the weight late in the ball game?

What was the level of Broner's competition before Maidana?

Manny, Porter, Maidana, etc... they're all busy if not smothering fighters who aren't feather-fisted. Which is a bad matchup for a guy who is not busy, not great defensively, and not willing to exchange.

So i'd wonder if this was inevitable for Broner once he decided to move up in weight class.

Right but he lost to Mikey too who's a more calculated guy. He upped his output against Broner though as he knew that's the surest way to beat him.

Was there anything about pre-Maidana Broner that made you think he'd have beat those versions of Mikey and Porter?

Just wondering how gun-shy and low-output he was, before moving up in weight/competition

The problems weren’t as apparent cause he fought in divisions where he had a size and power advantage against most of his opponents. There were chinks on his armor and when he moved to 147 and looked kinda bad vs Paulie I already thought the improved Maidana would whoop his ass but he was still the favorire there to most ppl and I don’t think that a whole lot of people saw how his career will go astray. He was considered by many a huge talent, a “next Floyd”(duh) but he wasn’t disciplined enough and probably just wasn’t good enough to really make it.

Broner has the talent but doesn't have the mindset or discipline. If he wasn't so damn gun-shy and let his hands go, he would be elite.
