Is it obvious the Detroit Lions need another stud reciever?

Powerful posting :lawd:

Linehan's been garbage from the get-go and the game has passed Gunther by. I'm sick of seeing multiple missed tackles on every play too.

Also, as I said in the Lions thread, Mayhew has been pretty shytty in the draft outside of Stafford, Suh and Levy (I'm holding off on the Delmas pick because though he's a good player, he's ALWAYS hurt).

You wrong. Look at his draft compared to around the league. He hit more then almost all GMs.

Naw bruh mayhew draft record been not to good. Stafford and suh were no brainer picks. Outside of them 2 how many of his draft picks have actually produced for us and became really good starters? The picking of boules and Titus young and then trading up for a concussion prone running back and then trading up for another rb the next year is very Millen-esqe.

You can't be serious. :what:

'08 was decent:

Stafford and Levy, but Pettigrew was a wasted pick and Delmas can't stay on the field.

'09:

Suh, then Best (who's done), Spievey and three other guys who've never even played.

'10:

:heh:

'11:

Remains to be seen, but for some reason Reiff isn't starting, even though there aren't any studs on the line. Broyles was a pointless pick.

Show me how he's made the team better outside of when Detroit picked in the top-2. He certainly hasn't maximized his picks.

I can't agree with you on pettigrew. I know he drops passes but he also makes some big catches and he stays on the field.

Delmas is another story, nikka ain't had a pic in 2 years and he takes terrible angles on the field.

:comeon: @ this thread.

Stafford was just missing a lot of throws last night. Everything was behind receivers or 10 feet over their head. He looks like he didn't work on anything during the offseason besides his knife and fork skills.

Even with all that, they were still hanging around all game.

What they need is a massive overhaul to the secondary, a defensive scheme that doesn't leave gaping holes to run through, two new DEs and a couple more linebackers.

Edit: And a coach to teach those fukks on defense how to tackle.

i actually thought the pass rush was better the year before they started using that wide 9 bullshyt :yeshrug:

Pettigrew cannot catch and drops big passes all the time. That was not a good pick. Scheffler > Pettigrew.

to be fair Best was used inappropriately which lead to the concussions imo, we could have used him Sunday night for some screen plays to bust open the 49ers defense.

Regular P likes to evaluate in extremes. Pettigrew wasn't a wasted pick. Dude is solid, but his hands ain't shyt sometimes. He's still a very productive player. And I won't indict Mayhew for some of the players not being starters. Reiff and players like Willie Young not starting is more due to this front office and coaching staff still hitching their wagon to old has been and never was players on the line. I think Reiff would be an upgrade at either tackle spot or they could put him in at guard. Get him in the game though. And Willie Young should be on the opposite side of Avril. I'm so tired of VDB overrunning plays and alway's 'almost' getting there. He never causes any real pressure. I appreciate what he did kind of being the trailblazer as a free agent for the turnaround, but the team doesn't owe him anything.

As far as the drafting in general, you gotta compare him to his peers to grade him, not on what you expected him to do. Pretty sure he has more hits than most of the league during his tenure. And he may not have as many late rd picks because he has traded many of them for some effective players. Plus I don't really judge a draft after the first year so I ain't gonna kill this years picks or even last years. And nobody can predict injuries, with the exception of Best. That lil nikka had concussion issues all through college and should have been used more like a Sproles type player than what they tried to do with him anyway.

When you play in a dome, forget about the run, have to comeback in at least four games last season and to come back is to pass. Yes, you do stumble into 5000 yards. That is the most hollow season a QB could ever have. Stafford sucks and he has a fat fukking face.

Lmao
