So i just watched The Force awakens and halfway trough it i realized that i dont give a shyt .
I never felt scared when the good characters were in danger, never felt any hatred for the bad guys, nothing.

Sure the CGI is great but the writing is just lazy. Keep it simple, don't take any chances, just give the herd what it wants to see. (to me it was a remake of A new hope)

This seems to be the case for most of the blockbusters i've seen in the last few years (Ultron, Mad max, Jurassic park etc) They all have a feeling of been there done that to them.

I feel more entertained and hooked by TV shows tbh.
Shows like GOT, House of cards, Narcos, Sherlock etc are superior than most of the movies that came out in the last 2-3 years (and im not just talking about block busters here). The writing is way better and they just feel fresh to me. Sure the acting is still better in movies (for the most part)

Maybe it's the customers fault, ppl like cg so much that hollywood puts all their money in that area and just says "fukk it" to a good story. :yeshrug:

I agree.

ESP if the budget is great can build a story, and get more in depth with the characters.

its been like that for a minute. TV shows is where the good shyt is at.

studios are playing it way too safe and dont want to take no risks at all with AAA movies. and the lower budget movies have trouble getting exposure. people who have ADD or only go to something hyped dont help either.

I cant imagine a Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction coming up in todays world without huge names behind them. fukk, if Shawshank Redemption would be greenlighted today, itd only be because it's Stephen King's adaptation.

on other hand, TV shows have smaller budgets but way more creative freedom, as well as audience that isn't all about instant gratification.

Agreed. Only downside is TV is so damn time consuming....like if someone recommends you a good movie you can watch it through and be done in 2 1/2 hrs and still (hopefully) get a good story and characters. But with TV you've got to watch about 10-11 hours for one season. Filler in movies can be a couple scenes here and there, filler episodes in TV costs you hrs :snoop:. Gets me too aware of how much time I'm wasting.

you're right, i had to give up on supernatural....75% of the last series is fukking filler, the same with the walking dead.
Most of the series have 10 episodes per season. not that time consuming

So many shows crap out at the end. Seems like TV copying one of the worst aspects of movies which is the constant sequels by squeezing out constant seasons. Disagree about Walking Dead though..:patrice:

I've always preferred TV over film. It gives you more time to get sucked in with the characters, the story, get emotionally invested with everything's that's happening, both characters/story get more development etc etc.

When a long running TV show ends I legit cry (if it's really good), because I've just spent 50-120 hours watching it, but when a film ends I'm like "It was only 100 minutes, who cares?", but a TV show like Friends or Lost ends that I've poured close to 100 hours into, shyt hurts when it ends breh

I'd like to see Spidey go street lvl and be a Netflix show.

he could be the liaison between the street lvl heroes and the avenger types.
