I have gold teeth and dreads so most black cashiers are cool with me
The white ones though

Coming from someone who has worked customer service, pleasantries can be annoying as fukk. There's only SO many times you can pretend to care how some stranger's day is going. It might not bother YOU, but they've probably had to have that conversation dozens of times that day
it's because they're embarrassed to be seen working as a cashier. of course they're going to take their frustration out on a black male instead of a white customer, since the white could get them fired for the attitude. management isn't going to care that a black guy is complaining, as they'll probably think you were trying to spit game.
It's you. The fact that you say this is happening in white establishments gives me the impression that they probably see you as a cornball or clown. Reason I say this is cause when I you go to the hood spots them chicks typically be on their around the away steez (I.e. If you fresh and attractive to them they are receptive, if you a bum/unattractive you gets no love) but from my experience when i go to the white establishments that have regular "black" chicks working the register (Whole foods to be specific), even if im on some bummy ish, they be mad cool and be willing to help me out if i ask (employee discount, scratch a barcode off, etc.). They have even expressed to me how "crazy" the white people are who shop there are and ish like that.
I also have peeped how they treat "blacks" who come in there on that other sh1t steez and it sounds more in line with what you're saying
Not saying this is your case for sure, but this is the impression i got from reading your posts in this thread (which i only have read a few on the first page at the time of making this post).
A approach all customer service people emotionless cuz I just want to get what I want and leave so any attitude they may try to give me gets thrown off.
No small talk or anything just answer my question or ring up the product and let's keep it moving.
I only entertain small talk if she starts it and won't get too much into it past a few comments.
When I used to do customer service I loved it when customers came in bought what they wanted and left. The less talk the better so time could fly faster so I treat it as such.
I do sometimes talk to them about how annoying customer service is sometimes cuz I also know how it feels.
Do like I do. You get bad CS, tell the manager and get the hoes fired
I stay telling on cacs with bad CS
yo there is this shyt that pisses me off....
there is this white coworker at my job where numerous times I have seen her texting right by her register...
whether she is on her break or she is open and nobody is on the line....usually weekdays I see her do this...
I already know if I did some shyt like that Miraculously I would be "noticed" by one of the managers and fired on the spot....
dam son........i feel ur frustration from these posts lolnice to see someone here is familiar with how it feels....its been the first time I worked in customer service and ive been working there since the middle of October....
call me pessimist or "a Grinch" but you ever got annoyed when the older white folks especially the women start cheesing WAY too hard and telling corny ass jokes? asking questions after I give you your receipt and coupon? like bytch get the fukk off my line....
all customers of all races can be @ssholes but as I stated I experience it less with black folks....the older black women are likelier to be stingier and have no class...this lady yesterday asked me to do a price check for some chips and when I told her the price she is on about "NO ITS NOT!!!" first of all bytch.....your older than me.....why are you acting so immature and like a child? this is the thing I do not get and I am sure you thought about when you had the job also...am I right? you thought how could all these people older than me act so immature?
dumbass people standing there staring at the screen like robots instead of moving down the belt to pack their items and then blaming ME for squishing the bread.."hey can you stop your squishing my bread" well pick your bread up you dumb ass cracker and it would not happen
the funniest thing to me is last week when "one of those" annoying ass "old timers" who was next in line randomly kept staring at me while I was with this other lady and started talking about how 20 years ago when he was working there were no bar codes and how we all have it so "easy" ...and I have to tell him "its not as easy as you think" and try to hold my cool with this guy being condescending to me....when I know it would be an issue if I talked down to him at his own job...
they out here thinking we just punch in numbers for everything and don't memorize anything....they see the book of codes in front of us and don't realize after your first couple of weeks you use it to double check the items you are not AS FAMILIAR with...
I bag for your ungrateful ass while you are talking on your phone not telling me how you want it bagged........dealing with stuck up broads throwing their keys on the belt as if to tell me to be their bytch and find their pathmark card for them.......punch in the code for the waters for you that I memorize off hand...so you don't have to pick it up to show me........cleaning up your messes because you realized when you came on the line "I dont' want this" "im not gonna take this" instead of picking your lazy ass up to return the shyt yourself...
see...all respect due you kinda suck at your job. all that bs comes with customer service, you should not be upset if thats the gig you chose. thats like doing construction and getting pissed off you get dirty.nice to see someone here is familiar with how it feels....its been the first time I worked in customer service and ive been working there since the middle of October....

my bad...fwiw i did cs for years (security at a posh building). i understand the struggle but i never gave a damn about disrespectful people. help them along and forget about em seconds laterthis is what I don't get about guys like you?
first of all how do I "suck" at my job? I wasn't talking back to the guy who threw the tantrum last night...."you should not be upset"? did I say I was complaining while at work? im on an internet forum talking about the negative aspects of customer service....
I got no problem doing work at all just saying folks need to be respected more
Breh, I worked at Macy's when it was Marshall Fields at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, MI. I'mma be real, most of the sistas were nice and straight up cool as hell, but the ones that were legit dymes and KNEW IT treated every nikka that walked through like trash, and don't get me started on the ones they worked with.
Lowkey, the white dudes got all that Cari Champion attention from them broads
