Coming from someone who has worked customer service, pleasantries can be annoying as fukk. There's only SO many times you can pretend to care how some stranger's day is going. It might not bother YOU, but they've probably had to have that conversation dozens of times that day
I worked in cust service from high school thru college, I know what I'm doing when I talk to them
I'm the dude they would call over to deal with irrate black female customers.

I approach all customer service people emotionless cuz I just want to get what I want and leave so any attitude they may try to give me gets thrown off.
No small talk or anything just answer my question or ring up the product and let's keep it moving.
I only entertain small talk if she starts it and won't get too much into it past a few comments.

I work at pathmark....most people who are being honest will tell you its mainly white people who are the worst customers....half of them are crazy as fukk...also with white MEN they are the most likely in the male gender to act crazy as fukk in these situations...
last night this older white guy threw a temper tantrum because I told him I had to close because the front end called me to say go on my break....the rule is that you tell the person who has their stuff up that they are the last customer and I told the lady(black lady) and her stupid ass pointed to the guy way behind and said how he has been here for a while too...
and you could tell her stupid ass regretted opening her mouth because the second she said that....he started spazzing out making the whole store hear him....throwing his stuff on the belt saying I better had check him out

nice to see someone here is familiar with how it feels....its been the first time I worked in customer service and ive been working there since the middle of October....call me pessimist or "a Grinch" but you ever got annoyed when the older white folks especially the women start cheesing WAY too hard and telling corny ass jokes? asking questions after I give you your receipt and coupon? like bytch get the fukk off my line....
all customers of all races can be a$$holes but as I stated I experience it less with black folks....the older black women are likelier to be stingier and have no class...this lady yesterday asked me to do a price check for some chips and when I told her the price she is on about "NO ITS NOT!!!" first of all bytch.....your older than me.....why are you acting so immature and like a child? this is the thing I do not get and I am sure you thought about when you had the job also...am I right? you thought how could all these people older than me act so immature?

well pick your bread up you dumb ass cracker and it would not happenthe funniest thing to me is last week when "one of those" annoying ass "old timers" who was next in line randomly kept staring at me while I was with this other lady and started talking about how 20 years ago when he was working there were no bar codes and how we all have it so "easy" ...and I have to tell him "its not as easy as you think" and try to hold my cool with this guy being condescending to me....when I know it would be an issue if I talked down to him at his own job...
they out here thinking we just punch in numbers for everything and don't memorize anything....they see the book of codes in front of us and don't realize after your first couple of weeks you use it to double check the items you are not AS FAMILIAR with...
I bag for your ungrateful ass while you are talking on your phone not telling me how you want it bagged........dealing with stuck up broads throwing their keys on the belt as if to tell me to be their bytch and find their pathmark card for them.......punch in the code for the waters for you that I memorize off hand...so you don't have to pick it up to show me........cleaning up your messes because you realized when you came on the line "I dont' want this" "im not gonna take this" instead of picking your lazy ass up to return the shyt yourself...

first of all how do I "suck" at my job? I wasn't talking back to the guy who threw the tantrum last night...."you should not be upset"? did I say I was complaining while at work? im on an internet forum talking about the negative aspects of customer service....
I got no problem doing work at all just saying folks need to be respected more
my bad...fwiw i did cs for years (security at a posh building). i understand the struggle but i never gave a damn about disrespectful people. help them along and forget about em seconds later

Breh, I worked at Macy's when it was Marshall Fields at Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, MI. I'mma be real, most of the sistas were nice and straight up cool as hell, but the ones that were legit dymes and KNEW IT treated every nikka that walked through like trash, and don't get me started on the ones they worked with.

at times I have had to end a transaction with a black lady as a customer because of how she acted or disrespected me and then the follow up customer ends up being a white woman who isn't being a headache....but I treat someone with respect if they treat me with respect....
which I hate to have to do because if another black lady who just joined the line is watching the difference they will assume the worst when its all because of the lady herself why I had to give a sista a dirty look at the end after I tried being nice to her and answering her questions and she doesn't show me respect....
and I ain't no c00n because as I said...hands down white women(fukk what people in this thread are telling you) are giving the worst customer service....
but young Black women are some of the cooler customers
no problem breh...its a misunderstandingfunny you mentioned the forget about them thing...after a bad experience I sometimes wonder about awkward it will be if they come to my line again but I noticed besides it not being the right way to think....9 times out of 10 that person realized THEMSELVES they were in the wrong and purposely don't come back to you specifically because they know they fukked up...
