I appreciate my mom for giving me great Christmases growing up even though she was probably stressed out to the max with life.
It's dry now because it's the whore era.I remember when Christmas carolers would walk around singing. This shyt dry now. It doesn’t even snow anymore.
I think about this a lot.I appreciate my mom for giving me great Christmases growing up even though she was probably stressed out to the max with life.
Probably just doesn’t hit the same because we’re not kids anymore. Being a kid I could barely wait until the 25th and couldn’t sleep the night before. Got so excited the night of Halloween to go get candy. Being an adult you got bills, sick of the cold and grey skies this time of year, got relationship problems…etc
That reality hits too hard smh
Most of the holidays in the past were anchored by investment from big box retailers... macys, sears, Walmart, toys r us etc.. half of them are out of business and the ones remaining have cut back and focus heavily on online shopping.
Malls are not popping like they used to and that's were in many cities you used to find the biggest Christmas tree displays. I think it's all tied to the death of retail and the change in our shopping habits.
These plus people dont fukk with each other like that anymore. Families dont get together like that anymore, let alone non relatives.good
More people are recognizing the origins of these holidays
