Nope. Gohan and Goku's screw ups were bigger. When a threat appears you're suppose to take them out. Vegeta at least tried. Gohan was seen as earth's last hope when he fought Buu. Gohan played with Buu after Goten told him everyone was dead. He failed to avenge his family and friends. Goku was the one who left them to fend for themselves.
Vegeta knew that at least Goku would still be around had he failed to beat Buu. There was no one left after Gohan.

The real travesty is Toriyama pulling out at the last minute to not give Gohan the W. The story would be too dark if Gohan won against Buu.
All alone in the world and he has Hercule asking him why he couldn't save Videl.
I doubt the dragon balls on new Namek would be used to reverse all of this either. Would have been an amazing ending. The kid with the future ahead of him has a worse future than Trunks.
