To the fukking TJapanese Dev's follow stereotypes?!!?
Most japanese made RPG's are inspired directly from Greek tales & tragedy. The character models follow this role for the "epic" adventure feel.
On some real nikka shyt, the reason you don't see many african based characters in these kinds of tales is because they couldn't depict our nature so linear for a 1-2-3 order kind of game. We black as a whole are incredibly gifted and intellectual, most of the modern media has spent that time shytting on us to the lowest perceptions as possible. Think about how incredibly logical an African-based RPG would be? Hence also if the foreigners don't get our character portrayal right instead use american ghetto stereotypes or something out of ignorance then it's a major backlash.
You've got to remember just because Asian people use to be black, their mulatto albino descendants are heavily influenced from white culture and has it's roots in European idealism in how it's society functions. They shunned the black out of many of the nations of Asia then it was chose strictly to deal with Europeans after losing their asses in wars.
In other words, It's not that it isn't possible it just politically motivated to stay "PC" to not make anoymore enemies. There's something about us that can't be touched in essence that others are afraid of because they don't got #StayWoke

Nerdy cacs are on that 1920's shyt. They're liberal in terms of religion, drugs etc., but not really when it comes to race.
Forget video games, that's like half the movies that come out now. Hero is always some above average looking white dude that can go into any situation and eventually be the hero. Watching Dr. Strange last night. How ol dude just gonna magically become this super sorcerer when you got an Asian dude (Benedict Wong) and a brotha (Chiwetel Ejifor) that have been in the game way before Strange? And of course he's gonna be the most inexperienced guy but already leading the pack. gtfoh

Tales of beseria's protagonist is a woman who isnt cocky
Nier automata has 3 protagonists, 2 of them women and 1 a guy and none are cocky really
The world ends with you has a protagonist that is an emo puzzy for most of the game
Final fantasy 6, and 13 (trilogy) feature female protagonists, and Final fantasy Tactics's protagonist isn't particularly cocky

If you REALLY want to avoid spoilers, dont let the game idle on the title screen. It has a video sequence it will play after a little while (kind of like a trailer) but that shyt has heavy spoilers in it. The way its edited makes it hard to tell the context but those events happen late asf in the game
