Did you read the whole thread?? I clearly said those players showed crazy potential,Emoni doesn’t show that,Lavine immediately at UCLA showed he was super athletic could handle and score from all three spots on the floor with ease(rim,mid,3ball) and if you really watched UCLA when he was there you could tell he should’ve been starting over Steve Alfords son.Zach Lavine looked like a roleplayer in college at best, averaged under double digits and is right now one of the best scorers in the game
No he should be a junior he’s still 17 years old right now and I think I read a story where he was bumped up a grade in elementary, but his age says he could be a junior in HS right now, though he was an original 2022 guySenior, but everything else is correct.
Ok. I didn't know anything about elementary school, just know this would be his senior year of high school if he didn't reclassify this school year.No he should be a junior he’s still 17 years old right now and I think I read a story where he was bumped up a grade in elementary, but his age says he could be a junior in HS right now, though he was an original 2022 guy
Oh naw you was right, just wanted to throw that out there but technically he was a 2022 guy so but his father fukked up the run in my opinionOk. I didn't know anything about elementary school, just know this would be his senior year of high school if he didn't reclassify this school year.
Could you explain a bit more?
What parenting and advice?
Damn. That's just terrible. I have no issues with college athletes being paid but I guess you have to be smart about it.theres some other shyt that I’m not that familiar with the details, but it’s something to the affect of: dad pulled Bates out of HS and forms Ypsi Prep to essentially be the Emoni Bates show, teammate Jaden Akins (now a freshman at MSU) had some issues with the entire teams goal to be to highlight Bates over winning, and over developing abilities of teammates…Akins gets thrown off the team.
Ypsi prep was playing really weak competition and Bates was putting up 35+ Shots per game on really awful percentages. So his development completely stagnated last year.
instead of signing up to they for a coach or D-League where Bates will get realistic coaching and development, he bag chased the short term paper to Memphis.
then NIL rules come out and Bates says I wanna go back to MSU but no one from MSU reached back out to him.
there’s a Twitter back n forth from this weekend where some MSU fan says “you’d be flourishing at MSU” and Bates responds “ask Izzo why I didn’t come” and then says “there was no money coming my way (from Izzo/MSU)”. Short term bag chasing…
I don’t think Penny has any top 150 guys for 2022, a lot of his big time gets have transferred. Prospects are realizing Penny isn’t developing talent.
seems to me that Bates wanted to be at MSU the entire time but chased short term bags bc of his dad. Then once NIL came into the picture he “reopened his recruitment” and was salty that MSU didn’t reoffer him.
bates wasn’t even Mr. Michigan Basketball last year…(maybe that’s reserved for only seniors?)

From what you're saying, the people advising Bates (probably Bates himself, too) are misguided.
They don't recognize none MHSAA schools and students for those awards, at least not as long I can remember.theres some other shyt that I’m not that familiar with the details, but it’s something to the affect of: dad pulled Bates out of HS and forms Ypsi Prep to essentially be the Emoni Bates show, teammate Jaden Akins (now a freshman at MSU) had some issues with the entire teams goal to be to highlight Bates over winning, and over developing abilities of teammates…Akins gets thrown off the team.

It's not THAT infrequent, but what happens is most of the top tier in state talent will leave for a prep or out of state school either because of the MHSAA's rigid guidelines or to get away from the problems living in the hoops hotbeds (Detroit and Flint). Jaden Hardy was a top 5 player and he's from Detroit. Josh Jackson, Bridges. We ain't Chicago, LA, DFW, Houston or the DMV, but the city still produce talent.he never seemed like an Izzo/MSU type of player. It’s not because he was highly rated either, plenty of top 10 guys have come thru and usually they’re humble and love Izzo and the school…bates just seems a bit entitled and selfish and isn’t interested in changing his approach which is hard to do at that age.
if he was from Cali or Arizona I doubt Izzo would’ve been targeting him but since he’s one of the few 5*’s that the state of MI produces these days it was important to recruit him.
Detroit and MI used to have a 5* every year or so and now it’s like every 5 years…
not sure if UK ever recruited him but the best fit for Bates’ personality imo would be coach Cal. He’s a little less of a control freak than Izzo but still gets a lot out of players and develops talent.
“Bates should be preparing for senior year right now, but like most aspects of his life, he surged past that, too. Bates reclassified to essentially skip his final year of high school ball and get ready for the next level. It’s a common move for big-time high school prospects — R.J. Barrett, Marvin Bagley III, and Andrew Wiggins did it, too — but Bates is in a particularly unique situation because he’s too young to enter the 2022 NBA Draft. He could be set to spend two years at the college level”

Repeating of the same dumb statements when i never posted from the start that he had a game where he SHOWED he has scored that much is totally different then me saying that he was he will be drafted for the potential of doing. But i know you won't hold ur breath waiting on an answer cuz u to busy sucking on that glass pipe or sumthing else maybe.Exactly!! Give me ONE Memphis game where it looks like Emoni can score 25 a night in the league I’ll fukkin wait you dope fiend
Tryna get his facilitating right aint a bad idea, I just don’t think Penny is the one to do itHe needs to get the fukk away from Penny and go to a program or staff that’s gonna build his game up. He got away with doing whatever the fukk he wanted for too long.
