So no one mentioned Jerome Bettis?
same hereMadden 07' was my shyt
And don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to play him or any one of the ones I mentioned like they're trash or anything. I just wouldn't take them over a prime Henry. Especially if he strings together another year(s) like the past few.
What's always gonna be held against Alexander is that as soon as Hutchinson left, his career flatlined. Went from 1,880 yards and 27 TDs on 5.1 Y/A to 3.6 Y/A the very next season. You can say injuries but those holes weren't there either.
Notice not one person has mentioned Terrell Davis in here. @murksiderock his years 2-4 are as good as anybody when you go by the numbers and his team won two straight Super Bowls with him putting up ungodly playoff stats.
But everyone also realized after he tore his ACL and never recovered that the Denver line/blocking scheme was the main reason for his numbers. Every RB after him was still putting up monster stats: Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Clinton Portis (look at the drop in his Y/A once he got to Washington), Ruben Droughns, Tatum Bell, Selving Young. Basically anyone with a pulse was putting up huge numbers in Denver if they got the carries.
He made three second-team all-pro teams in Indy. Faulk was great in Indy, but that team sucked, which is why they were able to get Peyton in the first place with the number one pick. It's not the best barometer, but look at who Faulk compares to on Pro Football Stats after five years, its the best RBs of all time. In 1998, he lead the NFL in yards from scrimmage.
Edge was obviously a beast, but he came into a more talented team and stable organization than what Faulk had.
