Punk has been champion like three times within a year. Change the fukking title already.
It would actually be cool if Cena defeated him at NOC and Punk comes out with a newly designed title. He could say the old title means nothing and John Cena said it himself by burying it throughout the year and that it's ironic because Cena literally made that belt and now he's destroyed it.
Punk's belt would have to be visually stunning. To the point where everyone would want to challenge for that belt and not the "real" WWE title. Punk would then be a take all comers champion except he'd cheat to win every single time. Then Cena could do a little hero speech where he states "his" belt still has an air of credibility because he doesn't cheat to win. All of his victories are fair and they mean something, unlike Punk's. Eventually there's a "unification" against Punk's will. There can be some drama about him taking his ball and going home until HHH/Vince/random GM pulls some contractual bullshyt out of their ass and forces Punk to do the match. Punk could pick the stipulation though. Anyway after a brutal match Cena wins holding up both titles until Brock/Rock/Taker/an emotional Ezekiel Jackson comes out and beats down Cena, takes the old spinner belt, destroys it and dumps the pieces over his body.
Then they cut a promo stating the Cena era is mercifully dead. An old dog, once useful and vigorous, has lived far too long passed that state of use and has been taken out back and shot.
They then pick up the new belt and covet it. They are then attacked by Punk since it's "his" belt. Cena recovers cause he's just that damn tough and joins the brawl. The attacker overcomes both Punk and Cena but are escorted out by random authority figure and security. Cena's claim to the title is secure.
For now.
